… Margaret has come a long way from local news in Broken Hill …

She was the correspondent contact listed on “ABC Geelong” (the FB page the ABC runs in lieu of setting up an actual ABC Radio Geelong on the FM band) for a while as well.

… that was one of the three supposed new bureaux to be set up in electorates that Gillard wanted to pork barrel in return for $60mil additional ABC funding in May 2013, but then she was ousted by Rudd and they all quietly disappeared …

I’d say they were planning for Abbott and the Liberals cuts. Nothing to do with Rudd.

What would an ABC Radio Geelong be if created at this point? Would have to be something special to make the effort to create it worthwhile.

Like with many regional ABC stations in Victoria, it would probably just mean local news and a local breakfast show.

… poppycock … Gillard was planning to win the election and Abbott was still promising no “cuts” …

… it was just planned as a one-person news bureau, nothing more …

… nope, not even that, it was just planned as a one-person news bureau, nothing more …
