I get the impression that all media is feeding the beast because they want to see agitation and conflict. With politics becoming boring again with such a weak coalition in opposition, they want to create more content for clickbait and views.

Yeah they could just do fact check and show how it’s impossible to achieve and leave it up on the net ,then go and find something not flogged to death for news.

It’s weird that they still have this kind of motivation when they are a government body that does not need to turn a profit. Mushroom case was like that as well. They could have set up a separate DAB+ station called ABC MUSHROOM at the peak of it. 24/7 flogging

What happened to the days when organisations simply reported the events of the day as they happened?
When did this shift occur? It’s awful.

Shifting away from news/current affairs having a defined timeslot hasn’t helped - we now want information and news as it happens, but this means that there are significant gaps that need to be filled when something isnt happening or when we’re waiting for more.
The shift has resulted in a need to fill the space with things that, at best, border on commentary and, at worst, directly impact the news cycle rather than moving on.
