Aired just before midday on ABCNC. Same version played on ABC Tas too. Nothing screams Tassie and local like the Sydney Harbour Bridge…

I presume that they aren’t localised for each capital city due to the fact that the ABC has statewide feeds, however surely it wouldn’t be too hard to just swap out the photos with one’s that are relevant for each state/territory.

I’m recall a similar ad for ABC Radio in recent years but the imagery was generic enough to be any town/suburb anywhere in Australia.
So they’ve finally woken up to the fact that no one called them ABC Radio Sydney, ABC Radio Melbourne etc and realised that people were still calling them 702, 774 etc.
Only taken about ten years for that to sink in.
I wonder which idiot in charge of branding within ABC radio management came up with ABC Radio XXXX back in the day.

Remember how long it took the ABC to do a Tasmanian specific news opener……….ages.
Then there was the ABC radio Hobart ad with shots of ‘queenslander’ homes….
Nice effort ABC.
Thats unfortunately how its done by all networks these days.
The one who thought that 774 ABC Melbourne was a better name than 3LO.
