ABC Local Radio

Thanks for this @TV.Cynic

The comments are damning and clear.

ABC made a huge stuff up with talent choice post Red.

As for the content. Spencer Howson’s #1 run on 612 Brisbane proves that quality local content works. Paraphrasing the local newspaper isn’t it.

I normally make a point of not reading the comments to preserve my own sanity, but made an exception today given your reply @crankymedia. While yes it seems there is a chorus of people wanting Red Symons back, the vibe of the comments seems overall fairly positive about the first week of this duo. Sure, some teething/polish issues, but otherwise fairly complimentary. I look forward to seeing how they progress.

Is Red Symons even entirely healthy and with it anymore? I mean, move on people.

I am sure he is fine, but I agree. It’s been a long time. It’s all history now.

ABC Melbourne is holding a competition across its shows this week and next week. Ticket package up for grabs this week include two tickets each to Australian Open women’s singles final, Graham Norton’s Melbourne show, Cyndi Lauper concert as well as musicals Beetlejuice and Jesus Christ Superstar later this year.

Next week, the tennis tickets are replaced by two tickets to a Paul Kelly concert.

During each show, listeners have only 15 minutes to text the codeword to a number.

Chris Bath began on Drive this afternoon, and guess what - her first words were “Good Afternoon”

Don’t think it’s been covered here yet. But Dom Knight mentioned on his program yesterday that Roy and HG’s “Bludging On The Blindside” will be filling the 10am - 12pm slot on Saturday Mornings in NSW this year, in place of the previous Saturday Morning statewide program.

Free studio audience tickets to see TGIF with Charlie Pickering on Fridays are now available from Eventbrite website.

Hasn’t been, we await your timely and informative observations.

Same in Qld. Over 100 hrs of metro radio lost annually per station. Good one ABC, death of a thousand cuts.

No local talk in Brisbane now after 10am Sat on either choice.

I actually don’t mind this! Bold for ABC but I like it.

Confirmation that Roy and HG will be broadcasting to ABC Radio Sydney and ABC Radio Brisbane on Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm in lieu of a local sport programme for each market.

Sydney didn’t have one, and Brisbane only had one last year during the NRL season.
