ABC Radio Sydney’s Parramatta Square Ground floor street studio looks like it is ready to go. I don’t know if any broadcasts have been made from it yet. All the hoardings and fences have been removed offering a good view from Parramatta Square.

They’ve been progressively shifting radio shows from Ultimo to Sydney since the start of May.
I believe at least Sydney Friday drive is still done from Ultimo though due to TGIF.
All that’s left is for NSW 7PM TV News to shift over, and hopefully they will bin the awful set they currently use for it at Ultimo.

Just noticed ABC Brisbane is now identifying on air as “612 ABC Brisbane” rather than the nebulous ABC Radio Brisbane.
But Just listened to ABC in Melbourne and it’s still ABC Radio Melbourne.
Let’s hope the new idents will spread across the local radio stations. Everyone in Melbourne still refers to it as 774. So 774 ABC Melbourne would be far more sensible. Basically back to the way it was.

Yep ABC got carried away with dropping the frequency in the station names. It was quite baffling actually because they didn’t actually push listening via DAB so the frequency is still important. Most people in Brisbane refer to it as 612

Adelaide seem to be using it on some id’s and station promo’s, while other station promo’s and id’s remain unchanged (most notably the statewide program ID’s for obvious reasons).
