I think all the metro stations + Gold Coast have been using their frequencies in station ID’s since they introduced the new stings and voiceovers.
However, since at least 2020 (possibly earlier), and prior to the sounds being refreshed this year, Adelaide has been using “on 891AM, Digital Radio, and via the ABC Listen App” in station ID’s.

This is a relatively new thing, and appears they are pushing. Even noticed them mention DAB, which they never do also.
For years we have had ABC Hobart push and push and push the listen App…it was ridiculous and relentless.
So also another few things @Radiohead, Hobart is in survey at the moment, so the OB’s and the caaaaaash giveaways isn’t normal.
Seems ABC Hobart are on the road with mornings this week to meet the Leg co candidates, cant help the timing of that was done in consultation with the marketing people.
7HO is giving away cash if you find their secret phone, Hit is out and about pretending to be a local station ‘meeting every listener’…and Triple M are giving away coin too.
You only ever see the billboards and busses during ratings time…maybe even a TVC or too…
Ultra, Hobart FM, Vision and Edge Radio really don’t push anything, not just during ratings but at anytime…
So you not visiting in what I would consider normal operating procedure for any of the stations…
ABC does OB’s all the time. They did quite a few during the Tasmanian election. There’s at least 2-3 each month here in Adelaide, and they do quite a few for weekend programming and TGIF in Sydney. Also a number of OB’s for The Friday Revue in Melbourne.
Thanks. Thought it may of been the case, but someone forgot to remove the programs from the web guide.
Should be noted that for a few weeks now, AFL states have taken the footy on digital platforms on Thursday and Friday evenings, while NSW, ACT and QLD have had their normal evenings program on Thursday, and the national evenings program on Friday.
Wonder if the NRL states will no longer get a Thursday & Friday evenings program, or if it’s just a one off due to it being ANZAC Day.
AFL states normal Thurs/Fri evening programs have still been on-air, but only on Digital Radio and Channel 25 only (not streaming). Seemingly, Channel 25 streams are not allowed to take sports programming (likely due to it being on TV). So they still need alternative programming provided.
I don’t think so. Online and TV guides have both listed ABC Sport, and there haven’t been any Thursday episodes for the VIC, TAS or SA/NT evenings programs since last month. Will check next week though what they air on Channel 25 here in Adelade.
I’m going by the preview chat David Astle does with Ali Moore on Melbourne drive. He specifically has said his Thursday evenings program was now only on Digital and Channel 25. Helen Shield in Hobart mentioned the same thing on Hobart. Jason Chong still appeared to do an Evenings show preview at the end of Adelaide drive last Thursday too.
But doesn’t explain why the lack of upload of episodes though for each program.
Maybe I am late to the party but it was nice to tune into Tim Webster , with the afternoon show on ABC local Illawarra (I am down here camping). He is a good operator.
not sure if correct thread - is there ABC Grandstand / ABC Sport radio thread?
Kelli Underwood called today’s Anzac Day clash at the MCG, she was on point too, quite enjoyed it. Is it just me or does she seem better on radio vs Fox Footy?
I don’t mind her on the radio, but could that hide some errors? I don’t hear in on Fox very often but isn’t she often criticised for calling the wrong players? Mind you, Taylor and Darcy are pretty bad at that on the telly. But hey, they’re not female so don’t get as much “feedback”.
