AustralianAerial commented saying why would she want to move to Regional radio. I think he thinks they’re talking about Dee Dee doing Nicole Chvastek’s Statewide drive show when theyre suggesting Dee Dee taking over Jacinta’s Melbourne afternoon’s.
Does anyone know where in Port Lincoln the radio transmitters for 5LN were located in the 1960’s. I believe 5NL was not a broadcasting station at that time just a translator for 5CK. There was a transmission station and a house for the technician on the site.
Yep different Pavlich and Chappell but a big loss to the overnight listeners. I’d say they might have a bit of trial then to make sure he likes the afternoons if it’s only until 2024 but when he want on ait with Pav this morning to announce the news it certainly sounded like it was a goodbye and a handover. Pav has been Trevs producer for a long time too and they’ve certainly built up a big audience for overnight and a big following. Will miss him in that timeslot though as will many others.
5LN is currently transmitting from this site as per Google Street View at approx 71 Cardiff Road at the east end of town…… there’s a couple of buildings behind the trees that could be related.
Given its central location, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been there since the 60s?
Re R. Aust logo: Yes… I’ve never figured why they did that as I thought some programming was their own & some from other networks vs being a clone of ABC Local.
