Lol it’s been 3 years. Almost as long as ABC Comedy.
Now I feel old
Bit of a shame though I know that teenagers will mostly watch on iView or whatever but it still seems like they’ve got the short end of the stick I think they should’ve made the kids programs finish at 5 then have more time for the teens
I remember when I was a teenager couple years of ago ABC ME/ABC 3 was a lifesaver if your parents took your devices away from you or you were staying home “sick” from school
Shame to see it go all digital
For reference look at the BBC and how they tried to move BBC Three to iPlayer but failed for it to return to linear tv a few short years later
The thing is though they tried to do that last year with ABC TV Plus and look where it got them
I stand corrected I didn’t know that
I’ll probably tune into this channel in the first week or so to watch some shows (the odd British variety show and a doco), to then realise it’s over on the next channel. lol. Luckily, some habits are quick to change though.
Thanks for all the memories ABC ME!
As of now the ABC ME app has been removed from the App Store and Google Play.
The shows are still viewable for now however
Anyone going to cap the end of ABC-TV Plus?
It doesn’t officially finish until 4am.
That was a huge mistake at the time but arguably resurrecting it as a linear channel was a bigger mistake - it rates really badly now.
Still seems odd that they didn’t have ABC Entertains as ABC2 on LCN 22 and on LCN 23 have ABC Kids/Family. Would have made way more sense.
They don’t want to move ABC Kids from 22, as it would have quite a lot of backlash from parents. Although, they could have put ABC Entertains on 21, replacing the extra SD feed of ABC TV, and put something else on 23 [maybe they could have brought ABC Arts to linear?] That would make more sense, I believe.
I guess flip the extra SD to 33. ABC Entertains seems primarily an adult channel with some morning kids show, should really have been made ABC2
Here we go the launch of ABC Family
ABC Family has officially launched
