The promotion photo for episode 4 of The Piano UK is pretty ironic. Although it is partly obscured by the direction sign, you can see the banner on the top left which read âGoodbye from Birmingham. Next stop, Victoria 2026â, referring to the next Commonwealth Games. Well the Games are going to Glasgow next year after Daniel Andrews announced in July 2023 that his state would not host the event.

A shame that there is no room in the budget for new local content on this channel anymore.
When ABC2 started, there were a few local content that aired. From comedies like âtwentysomethingâ, to small talk shows like that Dr Who Panel show with Rove / a Video Game Show (which name escapes me) / to others.
They werent big shows as such, but enough to bring in some viewers.
I wish they went back to abc2 and focused on arts and documentaries.
Dirty Laundry Live was not a bad show.
Itâs a shame that they canât have the finance/scope to use the channel as a launching pad for other shows or formats. ABC2 was where News Breakfast launched, now itâs a critical part of ABCâs news line-up.
Good Game and Whovians were the shows you refer to
