Breeders
From Tuesday 16 July 8.30pm Double episodes
In this honest and uncompromising comedy, Paul and Ally are juggling full-time careers, aging parents, a mortgage, upheavals in their relationship and the unenviable curveballs of parenting their young children, Luke and Ava.
Breeders explores the paradox that every parent knows but never admits: you would willingly die for your children, but quite often you also want to kill them. Paul is a caring father discovering he’s not quite the man he thought he was. His partner Ally runs a recording studio, makes Paul laugh and has the ability to read a story to their children while she’s technically asleep.
In this honest and uncompromising comedy, Paul and Ally are juggling full-time careers, aging parents, a mortgage, upheavals in their relationship and the unenviable curveballs of parenting their young children, Luke and Ava. When Ally’s estranged father Michael appears on their doorstep, the family essentially takes on a third child - but this one comes with baggage and opinions. Paul’s own parents, Jackie and Jim, are on hand to help out, but their generation does parenting a little differently.

ABC hinting at some possible changes to playout for 2025 here?
Would be good for them to have more of their channels in HD, they also gave the same response to ABC News (Channel) so here’s hoping
Lets hope so. ABC News needs to go HD. It looks shocking.
Exactly - at this point in time, most people who still use terrestrial TV have MPGE4 technology- when Viceland, 7Mate went MPGE4, there was no noticeable shift in viewer numbers.
Local and national radio networks will still be available with broad news coverage, analysis and coverage of emergency situations.
Further hints in 2025? That could mean that they are actually going to show new content on the channel, instead of endless Spicks and Specks and Would I Lie To You repeats
But realistically, it would probably mean HD, as mentioned above, which would also be great.
They’ve already ditched them a couple of months ago prior to the changes to the channels
Oh yes, you are right. Sorry.
I was just used to seeing it on the other channel (aka “ABC2”) for so long, that i assumed it was still there. Haha.
Spicks and Specks is still being repeated on ABC Entertains at 7pm on weekends.
Big Boys - Season 2
Wednesday 6 November 8.30pm, double episode
As the gang enters their second year at Brent Uni, they grapple with a new set of challenges in this heartwarming comedy.
Big Boys is a silly, sweet comedy about two boys from very different ends of the “spectrum of masculinity” who become best mates at Brent Uni Freshers Week 2013, and the friends they’ve made along the way.
JACK, 19 (Dylan Llewellyn) is a dweeby, sheltered boy from Watford, trying to both overcome grief after his dad’s passing and figure out what he actually wants in life. He’s left potty-mouthed matriarch PEGGY (Camille Coduri) who persuaded him to take up his scholarship at Brent Uni so he can make something of himself and not just be stuck at home, masturbating and knitting blankets to sell on Etsy.
Meanwhile DANNY, 25 (Jon Pointing) is your typical loud and proud lads’ lad. Hailing from a run-down seaside town, Danny is a few years older than every other fresher, trying to live out a lost adolescence whilst confronting the demons of his own mental health.
First year at Brent Uni threw these two together with CORINNE (Izuka Hoyle), a sharp, study-centric Scot who’s still learning to let her hair down and YEMI (Olisa Odele), the savvy fashion-kid who at 20 has already seen it all, done it all and begrudgingly helps Jack navigate being out and gay for the first time.
The gang are helped along the way by JULES (Katy Wix), the head of the SU who was once a student herself a decade ago and has just never, ever, left.
Now entering into second year, the gang have to contend with a new set of challenges, disastrous sexual encounters and unsuccessful relationships, whilst Danny and Jack both have to contend with their past as well. A fully out-the-closet Jack tries his luck on the gay dating scene as Danny attempts to both get laid and navigate issues closer to home.
Corinne and Yemi are making every second of second year count, whilst our favourite SU officer Jules, is still trying to make Brent Uni the greatest ever higher education institution (inside the M25).
Narrated by comedian Jack Rooke, The six-time BAFTA nominated BIG BOYS is based on his award-winning live Edinburgh Fringe shows 'Good Grief’, 'Happy Hour’ and ‘Love Letters’.
Series 2, Episodes 3 & 4
Wednesday 13 November 8.30pm

After his dad gets in touch for the first time in years, Danny has to decide whether to give him another chance whilst Jack stalks his sexy lecturer, Tim. Meanwhile Yemi frantically designs a fashion collection to a deadline as Corinne finds herself needing him to help with matters elsewhere.Episode 4
Jack and the gang plan a huge surprise for Danny, just as his dad visits from Margate, but not everyone knows whether to warm to him, given their past. Meanwhile Shannon convinces Peggy to get on the dating apps for the first time and Jules conducts a landmark student survey.
Series 31 launches tonight (UK time) for nine weeks, recording at Television Centre in London.
Big Boys - Series 2, Episodes 5&6 of 6 Season Final
