where do u think Government gets its money from?
yeah good question I always for some reason thought essential services like the ABC, schools, etc were allocated a certain budget from the federal reverse or something
For linear TV, this sort of channel naming is perfect. Leave the branding to the catch up services.
I had a look at the TV guide for the Entertains, just as dull as TV Plus!
itâs almost like it is TV Plus
just with a different name @hitmachine
The constant rebranding of these stations does keep someone at the ABC into a job (as a multi-channel rebrander). lol.
Although i would have like to see this new Entertain channel be 22 (aka ABC2), with ABC Kids/Fam on 23 (aka ABC3), i guess the powerful ABC Kids branding has more power? And thus, why itâs not moving anywhere? They canât move new Bluey to another channel.lol.
ER seems a random pick up for the channel. From 1994 but originally filmed in 16:9 apparently except for titles but broadcast 4:3.
Good to see that the channel runs until 4am instead of 1am like the old channel was.
Did ABC3 ever used to do this or was it only ABC ME that did?
Wait thatâs a job? Damn I might have to switch industries
I think ABC3 did the random midnight program, but donât know if they did the 3:40 update.
They could just make a bluey ident with permission from Ludo saying:
âHey if you want to watch me, Bluey and my friends then watch me on channel 23!â
And I thought the Friday night movie(s) when they started on ABC Comedy / Plus a couple of years ago were also random, but they persisted and must have some audience, maybe iView or in their target younger viewers. Started with odd genre titles like I Know What You Did Last Summer (Sony), but now seems solid, such as the other weekâs A Time To Kill (Regency) and The Informant! (Warners).
They must feel or be hoping ER is an iconic enough brand to attract a nostalgic or new younger gen following, even if come and go, maybe they got a package with other titles.
I was watching ABC Kids tonight and saw some promos for ABC Family also saw it on ABC Entertains seems like the youth content will be split between ABC Family and Entertains
Based on that selected thumbnail I almost thought they revived ABC Comedy.
Well I guess this somewhat ends the reign of regular television closedowns on Australian TV, even though it gets a small amount of downtime in the early morning, still interesting to see it happen in my lifetime anyways.
Exactly right! I think 7 have not had close-downâs for a while
Seven hasnât had a closedown for many years, since Perth went 24/7 around the late 90s/very early 2000s
