Logie Awards nominations come out - everyone goes crazy.
AACTA Award nominations come out and no one gives a rat…
Best Film nominees: Elvis, Here Out West, Sissy, The Drovers’ Wife, The Stranger, Three Thousand Years of Longing.
Mystery Road Origins, The Twelve and Heartbreak High dominate the television awards.
Five Bedrooms is nominated for the Best Comedy Program and is up against Aftertaste, Hard Quiz, Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell, Spicks and Specks, Summer Love.
Is neighbours been nominated or at least getting a tribute and not like the most downgrading insult to Australian tv industry one it recieved at this years logies
The Logies and AACTAs always manage to include some wacky nominations.
Years ago Kath and Kim won Best TV Drama at the then AFI Awards, beating All Saints, MDA and The Secret Life Of Us, and Best Screenplay in a Television Drama. Admittedly it doesn’t appear that the AFI awards then had a category for Best TV Comedy but I’m not sure how you’d rank K&K in the same field as those dramas.
Given the audience voting for AACTAs are effectively industry peers, its probably not a surprise that they wouldn’t bother with a lot of their content.
now that Seven has got the Logies and Ten has the AACTAs, Seven is probably favouring the Logies now whereas they usually gave the Logies a wide berth in the past
According to website of Eventbrite which is coordinating sales of tickets to the ceremonies for both general public and industry, the AACTA Awards on Wednesday, December 7 will start at 3pm AEDT.
I won’t be surprised if some winners are leaked before 10’s broadcast at 7.30pm local time.

Academy Award-winning costume designer Catherine Martin is the recipient of this year’s Longford Lyell Award. There is a double page interview with her in Stellar magazine today.
Good to read that Catherine Martin is getting the Longford Lyell Award. She has had such an amazing career.
I see that 10 has schedule the 2022 AACTA Awards for 2 hours (7.30-9.30pm), which is great. I hope they show as many awards as possible, compared to some less than average ceremonies on Seven…
