Sounds like a perfect time to axe ACA and hopefully restore some standards to journalism while still holding people/companies to account that need to be rather than just sensationalising things for ratings.
One can dream.

Iād say this is the most likely scenario
Lots of love for Tracy over on Twitter by many faces. Well respected throughout the industry
Not when it rates 900k a night! Would be stupid to axe it
And itās Saturday success. When itās aired country wide itās always top 4.
Take the P-1-5-5 out of Eddie as much as we do, but he did rate well when he was presenting in this period, especially in Melbourne.
Canāt believe sheās been there 17 years.
Canāt see Leila re-locating the family back to Sydney. Debās kicking goals at 2GB.
My moneyās on Karl. Heās coveted a prime time slot for years. Nine will be reluctant to let him leave Today now that itās finally competitive but he clearly needs a new challenge. The Nine boys club will ensure he has first dibs.
So will Karl Stefanovic replace Tracy and open the door for a new host on Today?
Would they really be that stupid? Look what happened to Today when Karl left the first time? Theyāve only just started rebuilding now nearly 3 years later.
But if Karl has always wanted to it and had been promised the job if Tracy ever left, he would really dpot the dummy if they reneged on that.
Plus you can only do 3am wake ups with a young family for so long.
The second time around!
If Karl is first in line it would be a no brainer. Basically 3x the audience/eyes on him
And ratings for A Current Affair would be important for Nine than Today.
Yes and no. Both shows are just as important for Nine and Iām sure any options for hosts would be carefully considered
Then they better move Charles to the weekday version now with Karl and Ally to get viewers used to the switch over. Otherwise. Hello 2019.
Both are important but A Current Affair has a bigger audience and importantly is the lead-in for prime time.
Tracy is a big loss.
If considered, Deb would have to consider whether sheād like to do another full-time gig in addition to what she already does at 2GB. Iād also imagine thereās an element of whether sheād want to associate herself with this sort of program on a permanent basis.
Can rule out Leila being based in Byron Bay and her having a lower profile these days than the other candidates.
If Deb had a problem with the association of this show then Iām sure she wouldnāt be hosting it at all
They should get Abbie Chatfield.
