EPISODE 36 – DAVE LAWSON, - Monday,16 December at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Alice welcomes comedian and actor Dave Lawson, but before he arrives Alice kicks things off with a homemade peanut chili oil to satisfy his latest obsession with crunchy hot condiments. Dave arrives with a bag of dimmies which sees Alice take on the challenge of crafting her own impressive pork and cabbage dimmies. Alice helps Dave confront a childhood trauma involving cornflakes.

EPISODE 37 – KYLIE KWONG - Tuesday, 17 December at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Guest chef and restaurateur Kylie Kwong showcases her passion for native Australian ingredients.
She brings karkalla and samphire, and together they prepare Stir-Fried Mussels with Black Bean, Chilli, Karkalla, and Samphire. Alice then takes on the challenge of crafting a sweet dish featuring native flavors with her Coconut Sago Pudding topped with Quandong Jam.

EPISODE 38 – SUSIE YOUSSEF - Wednesday, 18 December at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Alice makes her version of the delicious snack, rocky road. Susie arrives in the kitchen with the gift of zucchinis. Alice wants to do a spin on the stuffed zucchini with a hearty Italian dish called zucchini involtini with rocket sauce. Then it’s up to Alice to change Susie’s mind on lentils.

EPISODE 39 - HEATHER EWART -Thursday, 19 December at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Alice starts by whipping up a zesty Lemon Delicious Mug Pudding. When Heather arrives, she brings a whole snapper. Alice shows her the way with a crispy snapper combined with Asian flavours. Then Alice attempts to change Heather’s mind on sweet and sour flavour combinations.

EPISODE 40– ANDREA LAM - Friday, 20 December at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Alice makes dip lover Andrea Lam a silken tofu corn chowder dip. Andrea arrives bringing along vermicelli noodles! Alice shows her a quick Vietnamese noodle dish with a delicious nuoc cham dressing. Andrea challenges Alice to make a dish using left over hot chips.

EPISODE 41 – MARC FENNELL – Monday, 23 December at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Together Alice and Marc whip up delicious soy-infused mushroom noodles, exploring the umami-rich ingredients that make this dish a standout. Then, Alice shares her tips for perfectly cooking octopus, ensuring a tender and flavorful result. Then Alice surprises Marc with two of his all time favourite ingredients in her spicy chili baked almonds and marinated olives.

EPISODE 42 – STEPHANIE ALEXANDER RETURNS - Tuesday, 24 December at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Before Aussie food icon Stephanie Alexander arrives, Alice whips up a refreshing lemon verbena cordial that will pair perfectly with the feast to come later. For the main course, Stephanie shows Alice the deceivingly simple way to make her famous potatoes. Then Alice’s challenge is to re-imagine the dodgy sausage roll. Alice produces a porcupine sausage polpette with tomato soup.

EPISODE 43 - LUCY DURACK -Thursday, 26 December at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Alice makes star of stage and screen Lucy Durack a taste from her childhood home in Western Australia with some zingy crab cakes. Lucy arrives with some bananas. Alice does a spin Lucy’s Grandma’s banoffee pie with some mini banoffee cups. Lucy then sets Alice a big challenge – to cook a dish that her kids will eat packed full of veggies. The impossible task!

EPISODE 44– MIAH MADDEN -Friday, 27 December at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Before actress Miah Madden arrives, Alice is keen to make a dish designed for sharing, a pan confit tomate, think crusty bread, tomato and garlic! For the main course, Miah arrives with some beautiful sage. Cue the pumpkin gnocci! Then Alice’s challenge is to re-imagine the humble apple pie.

EPISODE 45 – JENNIFER WONG – Monday, 30 December at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Alice does her own spin on everyone’s favourite Asian snack, the prawn cracker! As a big lover of congee, Jennifer Wong arrives with the gift of rice! Alice shows her the traditional Georgian dish – Karcho, a hearty soup packed full of goodness. Jennifer sets Alice the challenge of reimagining the old classic – lemon chicken!

EPISODE 46 – ZOE COOMBS MARR - Tuesday, 31 December at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Together Zoe and Alice whip up a delicious Butternut Squash with Bejewelled Buckwheat Stuffing.
Alice then sets out to show Zoe how to properly poach pears and avoid pitfalls of the past. Then Alice surprises Zoe with shimmering Potato Fritters that add a touch of magic to the kitchen.

EPISODE 47 – MICHAEL THEO RETURNS - Wednesday, 1 January at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Alice aims to show the star of Love on the Spectrum and Austin, Michael Theo, a few tips on how to cook to impress a special dinner guest. First up, she makes a seafood entree with some South American flavours, then Michael arrives with chicken thighs in search of a quick and easy dish he could replicate at home when entertaining. For dessert, Alice convinces Michael the way to most people’s hearts is through… cheesecake!

EPISODE 48 - CLAIRE HOOPER - Thursday, 2 January at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Alice makes some easy breezy and very cheesy spinach and cheese pies for the arrival of Claire Hooper. Claire arrives with her favourite fruit – plums! Alice and Claire create some fluffy plum muffins – or ‘pluffins’ as Alice calls them! Alice takes on the challenge to try and convert her back to carrots with a butter carrot curry. Let’s see if Alice can win Claire over – the verdict will be up to Claire!

EPISODE 49– SAYA SAKAKIBARA - Friday, 3 January at 6pm on ABC TV and ABC iview
Before Saya joins her in the kitchen, Alice prepares a nutritious, protein-packed avocado dish tailored for elite athletes. When Saya arrives, she brings a special gift: a dumpling mold to make gyoza. Inspired, Alice suggests a delicious pierogi dish to showcase their dumpling-making skills. Alice takes on the challenge of convincing Saya to embrace Brussels sprouts.

Anyone watched this? is it actually similar to The Cook Up with Adam Liaw, but with just one guest, compared to two (in The Cook Up)?

Ratings wise, nothing will compete against Seven and Nine’s 6pm News. But is it up from The Drum that aired last year ay 6pm (under different ratings model), or against Antiques Roadshow repeats that aired a few weeks ago (5.30-6.30pm, so may be hard to compare)?

Episode 50 - Season final episode

Monday 6 January 6.00pm

Alice is joined by Aussie TV royalty Osher Gunsberg! As a busy guy on the go, Osher needs to have good snacks on hand. And so Alice rustles up her roasted nuts and bolts, a crunchy snack that he can take away with him.

Osher arrives with an ingredient he sees a lot of, silken tofu. He’s keen to discover a recipe that uses this ingredient in a different way and changes its unusual mouthfeel. Alice surprises him by making him a silken tofu chocolate cheesecake! Who knew!

Despite being a vegan, Osher is often anti vegan food at weddings and celebrations, saying that the food is often not good enough and hardly fuels him for a night of dancing. He’s convinced to be the last one on the dancefloor! Can Alice show him a dish that’s good enough for party food, tasty and most importantly, will keep Osher dancing?? Let’s find out!

Rest of the week are repeats.

Odd that they ended it’s 50 episode on Monday, rather than last Friday.

Looking at the weekly schedule, it looked like they skipped an episode on Christmas Day - hence the airing on Monday.

Glad that it is in development for a second season. Despite average ratings.

Season 1 premiered on ABC Australia across Asia Pacific last Tuesday (January 7). It airs from Monday to Thursday and every Saturday at 10am Hong Kong time, repeated at 3pm HKT.

The show has been moved to 5pm with Antiques Roadshow taking the 5:30-6:30pm slot.

Alice make’s a dish inspired by her mother for the much-loved cravat-wearing cook…Matt Preston. Matt shows Alice the trick to the perfect braise. And we discover that Matt is a romantic at heart

Alice and Matt Preston pay homage to the women who have influnced their cooking. Inspired by her mother, Alice makes Matt her Baked Beetroot with Herby Labneh and Georgian Spiced Walnuts. Together Alice and Matt set about making “Jude’s Braised Ribs”, a recipe given to Matt by his mother in law as part of his dowry.

Author and wild woman, Gina Chick stops by and together she and Alice tackle a whole snapper. But not before Alice forages for ingredients for a dish from her…fridge!

Adventurer and author Gina Chick stops by. Alice forages ingredients from her fridge cooking her Fridge Forage Minestrone for GIna. Together Gina and Alice tackle a whole snapper, honouring the ingredient with a clever no waste recipe when they make Alice’s Herby Baby Snapper with Fennel Salad. While in the kitchen Gina opens up about the healing powers of nature and Alice learns how stepping into the limelight actually helped Gina be at peace with her “big, wild personality”.

EPISODE 3 – RHYS NICHOLSON – Wednesday, 2 April at 5pm on ABC TV and ABC iview** Comedian Rhys Nicholson and Alice, relive the standout dishes from their wedding day menus together.

Alice whips up a wedding canape inspired by her own wedding day, for comedian Rhys Nicholson. Rhys arrives in Alice’s kitchen and the two share their wedding stories together. They re-create the chicken meatball sub, the dish that got the dancefloor pumping at Rhys’s wedding.

EPISODE 4 – MARY COUSTAS – Thursday, 3 April at 5pm on ABC TV and ABC iview

On Thursday, Alice whip ups up an Italian Prawn Pasta for her famously Greek guest, Effie, or rather comedian Mary Coustas;

AFL legend and Western Bulldogs favourite son, Bob Murphy drops in and together he and Alice elevate the humble meat and three veg he grew up on.

AFL legend turned breakfast radio host Bob Murphy drops in, and Alice surprises him with a breakfast befitting a champion – her Cheesy Chilli Piadina. Bob’s favourite ingredient is chilli, but how much heat can this Western Bulldogs star handle?Next, Alice and Bob elevate the humble meat and three veg Bob grew up on as they make Alice’s Roast Lamb Should with Lemon, Fennel and Kipflers.

So this new season is remaining at the 5pm slot? Season 1 aired at 6pm. When in repeat mode, it was “bumped” to 5pm. Looks like repeats of Antiques Roadshow is staying in the 5.30-6.30pm slot.

Leisel and Alice make a super tasty, soupy curry that transports Leisel back to her unforgettable eat, pray, love trip to Bali where she ate the best curry she’s ever tasted. And over a cup of tea and biscuit, Leisel reveals the truth about the famed cookie contraband rumours.

Thursday, 17 April Episode 14 – MATT OKINE
Actor and comedian Matt Okine joins Alice in the kitchen, but before he drops by Alice whips him up a nutritious version of a festival favourite – the burger. Alice’s Moroccan, Mushroom and Lentil Burger draws on Matt’s Ghanian heritage with the addition of some North African spices and is a subtle nod to Matt’s dad who ran food stalls at festivals around Melbourne during Matt’s childhood.

Friday, 18 April Episode 15 – DANIEL HENSHALL
Alice whips up her ‘Roast Pumpkin with Miso and Pepita Furikaki for her dip loving, award winning actor guest, Daniel Henshall. Daniel arrives at Alice’s door with a bag of mussels in his hand. Alice has chosen to cook with the mussels to create a ‘Mussel Chowder’ a dish that collides Daniel’s two world’s - a chowder to remind him of the 7 years he spent living (and eating) in USA, where he was heavily influenced by their food, combined with the most memorable mussel dish Daniel ate a little closer to home.

Monday 7 April - Denise Scott

Comedy legend Denise Scott joins Alice in the kitchen. Before she arrives, Alice whips up an '80s classic - the scotch egg. Denise pops in with a basket full of vegetables asking Alice to help her fall back in love with them.

Tuesday 8 April - Lawrence Mooney

Alice transports Comedian Lawrence Mooney’s tastebuds to Italy with her Italian Fisherman Soup, and Lawrence causes havoc in Alice’s kitchen as together they make her Handy Chocolate Cake.

Wednesday 9 April - Zan Rowe

Alice roasts up some spuds for much loved music journalist and TV presenter Zan Rowe. Zan confides in Alice her fear of cooking lamb and together they combine Zan’s love of Italian cuisine with lamb.

Thursday 10 April - Mark Watson

Alice takes baked beans to the next level for her UK comedian guest, and newly cooking convert, Mark Watson. Together Alice and Mark smash up a classic UK comfort meal, bangers and mash.

Friday 11 April - Taj Aldeeb

Alice makes a sweet treat, inspired by composer Beethoven’s love of apples, for classical musician and ABC radio host Taj Aldeeb. Also, Taj and Alice put a beany twist on the classic shawarma.
