9Now Apple TV app now shows Nine main channels as being full HD.
Still canât believe the other bvod services havenât added a âstart overâ button to the live streams of their broadcast channels. I think itâs underrated!
Itâs useful but it is missing in my view a required feature the ability to seek to a particular point in the show. For example if there is a issue and your connection drops out about say 20 minutes into Nineâs Sydney news with Peter Overton and the program overall hasnt finished yet you canât seek to where you were watching you have to start over again from the beginning. It should work like on YouTube Live Stream whereby you can seek to any point. Obviously block seeking for ads when they appear and possibly have a pre roll. I havenât used the function for a few months but I donât think it has changed much.
I think the idea is Nine would prefer you to watch the whole program and its ads, essentially âas-liveâ. Itâs still a live stream, rather than âon-demandâ. But yes, I know what you mean and agree, it is annoying.
BBC NEWS CHANNEL LAUNCHES ON 9NOW
The 9Network today announced that 9Now will bolster its live content offering with the addition of the BBC News channel.
This expansion of live content, through a long-standing partnership with BBC Studios, provides Australian audiences with 24-hour access on 9Now to one of the worldâs most trusted news brands.
Positioned prominently within the 9Now lineup, BBC News will be easily accessible for viewers seeking high-utility, around-the-clock news content.
BBC News joins 9Nowâs existing portfolio of BBC FAST channels: BBC Comedy, BBC Food, BBC Home & Garden, Top Gear and Antiques Roadshow.
Nineâs Director of 9Now and Programming, Hamish Turner said: â9Now is strengthening its commitment to trusted journalism. The addition of BBC News complements our 9News lineup, delivering a deeper global perspective. At a time when misinformation is prevalent, we are proud to provide Australians with a 24-hour window into the worldâs most important stories."
Robi Stanton, President of APAC Media & Streaming, BBC Studios said: âWeâre pleased to grow our FAST channel offering with Nine. Alongside the existing suite of BBC entertainment and factual channels already on 9Now, the launch of BBC News marks an exciting step forward in delivering additional BBC content, and trusted journalism, to even more Australians.â

Anchored out of the U.K, U.S. and Singapore and with correspondents around the globe, BBC News programs include World News America, Newsnight, Business Today, NYSE â Opening Bell and The Travel Show.
BBC News is now available to stream live on 9Now.
I was wondering why BBC Earth went missing over a week ago. Fetch still carries the proper subscription version of it, so it wouldnât surprise me if it was deemed unnecessary to have both available in the same market. Weird thereâs no mention of it though.
CBeebies would surely be next in line to pop up.
Nine also seems to be positioning 9Now more like a pay TV-style offering these days⌠almost as if theyâre compensating for a certain missed opportunity to acquire a particular providerâbut who really knows?
