I find it ironic that Nine is promoting Desperate Housewives coming soon on 9Now. In 2006 it scheduled new episodes of The Mentalist against DH in the Monday 8.30pm timeslot. The move paid off with The Mentalist winning its timeslot almost every week when the two dramas went head to head.
I have been saying it for a while that someone should pick up Desperate Housewives on a streaming service. It is great 9Now has got it.
Did they recently pick up Parenthood? I saw an ad on 9now for it.
I’d love to see Comedy Inc on 9Now . Not sure why it’s never appeared on a streaming service other than Youtube yet since it finished.
Original series of Seachange (1-3) plus original halifax and Sea Patrol now available on 9now
Unsure there’s much value in uploading 15 year old episodes of a comedy series that riffed heavily on Australian pop culture of the day and has likely dated terribly.
Sea Patrol has been there for years.
I really liked Comedy Inc when it was on air, but watching clips on YouTube these days gives you a cringy vibe with all the political and cultural references. I think my tastes in comedy have changed a lot since then, too. You could argue that memes have killed the skit show format.
Yeah I liked it too. I also liked Fast Forward too. I still get. Chuckle out of some FF skits. Janelles beauty spot was hilarious. Magda and Marg were just so brilliant.
YES, can’t wait to binge watch this. Watched the reboot last year. Thought it was great.
Probably Comedy Inc too offensive in today’s world. Might offend too many people in this PC world we live in now.Though I don’t remember Kevin Rudd or Kochie complaining about it …
9Now is the only streaming service online that is HD ? 7Plus isn’t HD online?
Not necessarily. It’s largely irrelevant which makes it not that funny anymore.
Yes it is. 720p like 9Now
I agree. A lot of the jokes in Comedy Inc (and to be fair, other former Australian sketch comedy shows like Fast Forward and Full Frontal) were based around topical humour. All those references to old politicians, news events and TV shows/commercials just wouldn’t work in 2020.
Unfortunately this probably won’t ever happen, but in the future personally I’d love to see a completely new Australian sketch comedy program produced which goes after much the same targets (politicians, news events, movies, TV shows, commercials with the odd original sketch or two) but what’s relevant at the moment rather than what the talking points were more than a decade ago.
Agreed, people would go off their nut if it aired today. They’ll literally find any excuse to whinge. Amazing what 10 years can do.
Bring back Comedy Inc! Bring back some kind of sketch comedy. Not like there’s a shortage of material…
They have also added seasons 1-7 of Stingers FINALLY! Still need Season 8 BUT It’s also in proper widescreen and not the pillar boxed and cropped with half the screen missing like the DVDS have.
Do we know if 9now streams in full HD?
