7flix - Programs and Schedules

I actually only just realised that Law & Order has since returned, but on Mondays, after they stopped last year.

Wonder why. A couple of years ago just pre-VOZ the line-up had seen a significant lift for the channel on that night and had been its best success in the timeslot in years after several fails and changes. Even some recent glances at VOZ m/c data have shown the channel sometimes, contrary to popular belief, actually one of the highest rating.

Wonder if Mondays are performing significantly better and/or a recent sudden drop on Sundays?

Or something to do with L&O / NBC-U rights and trying to save them a bit?

Also could be they’ve seen 7mate, 9Go! and even 9Gem pulling some share / audience with Sunday movies lately?

The channel did use to run movies on Sundays some years back, to occasional but often disappointing success, so will be interesting to see.

Wednesday 23 July 2:15 AM overnight then in various post midnight timeslots (including double eps).

Friday 25 July 12:45 AM, then later 02:30 AM and 03:30 AM

Just some more on this, they ended season 7 in January and checking the episodes airing now have gone back to season 1.

I may have got too excited on this one. Looks like will be one week only then back to Law and Order

Looks like 7flix will air live sport next Thursday judging by the EPG guide.

AC Milan will take on Perth Glory, live & free on 7flix and streaming on 7plus, as they return to Australian soil for the second consecutive year. Kickoff: 8:20pm AEST.

I know that Seven and 7mate are being used for the AFL but I wonder why they didn’t put this on 7TWO as its HD yet 7flix is SD?

NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles is coming soon to 7flix starting from season 1 episode 1

I don’t know what that means for the episodes on 10 Bold. I just assume we will see the show air on two channels at the same time.

Interesting move by Seven.

Old episodes of NCIS and NCIS: LA have been screening on Foxtel for some time, so anything is possible.

Isn’t this on Paramount + as well? What will happen there?

Next move is for one of Nine’s multi-channels to air NCIS and NCIS LA - and fans will have a triple trat on FTA :stuck_out_tongue:

Jokes aside - i am surprised to see it move to 7flix. An interesting choice there.

Yes this is likely an on sell like Judy Judy. 10 will still air it and be available on Paramount+. Just further episodes allowed on 10

Starts Wednesday October 1, according to advance guides.

That’s a big get for Seven and a loss for 10, knowing how consistently very well classic NCIS has rated for Bold/ONE over the last 8 years, expect a push on-air and 7flix’s share to increase. They tend to skew 25-54s and Over 55s, so both a positive for total audience and key demos. Wouldn’t expect anything amazing, certainly not the 200k+ metro some eps were doing several years back, but none the less should still be beneficial for the m/c and complement their other procedurals.

The original is without a doubt the biggest US crime/Police procedural here of the last two decades, at its peak on Ten around 2008 - 2010 was pulling mid-1m metro and was the envy of Seven and Nine.

Someone at Nine fairly high up some years ago mentioned to me that they “wished we had it [NCIS], but that might be challenging with Ten’s relationship now with CBS”. So Paramount’s global licencing strategy recently, regardless of Network 10, is interesting and I’m guessing likely 10 had no say.

Looks like House mustn’t have been doing very well.

But you see…

The early seasons of NCIS were broadcast in 4:3 SD.

I don’t think that was its original specifications though, it would’ve been provided panned and scanned or cropped by Ten and broadcast that way.

It was originally shot in 35mm with a 1.78:1 aspect for 16:9, its re-runs later on Ten were as such, widescreen and HD, were mastered that way anyway for those who had flatscreen TVs in the early 2000s and Ten Digital and later Ten HD.

In fact, the ones that aired on Bold from about Season 3 (2006), the end credits which were re-arranged by Ten were from that time. When they used to shrink and have a split screen with a promo for another show and what was coming up next, while the credits rolled stretched and fast below.
