I read somewhere that both prime / GWN / southern cross will be introducing HD channels at a later date.
That would be good I just get the feeling they are not very interested anymore.
Good to finally see Once Upon a Time back in Australia! Should be on all year in this timeslot with season four, five and potentially six all to catch up on.
For Prime to be able to get this channel and Prime7HD, would they have to convert more of their channels to MPEG-4 or drop a shopping channel ?
When 7 goes to HD , they would somehow have to fit it all in. How would there be enough spectrum without removing a channel ? Maybe drop the quality on Racing.com.
If they do it properly, there theoretically should be enough space. Seven runs at higher bitrates than Nine and Ten, which should allow the addition of another MPEG-4 channel without too much compromise in quality - especially since the shopping channels and RACING.com run at pretty low bitratres.
7flix is now included in TV Weekās daily guide, unfortunately it has to share the same column with 9Life due to lack of space. 7flix is on the top half and 9Life is on the bottom half.
Currently, 3 out of 6 of Primeās channels are MPEG-4. WIN has 4 out of 7 in MPEG-4. If Prime add a new MPEG-4 stream for 7flix and leave everything else in the same format, then they would have the same configuration as WIN. Since WIN have shown that itās possible to broadcast with this configuration, the answer would be no, they could add 7flix and keep everything else as is.

Picture quality seems fine broadcasting now . Sound didnāt seem too bad either. I didnāt notice the sound too be that bad when it launched, more noticeable was the picture.

Quality is still off in Townsville.
Racing.com looks and sounds better, which is disappointing, as 7flix is the channel Iād actually rather watch.
Watched a movie on 7flix tonight, enjoyed the short ad breaks. Picture quality isnāt too bad, but audio is still poor, which really detracts from the viewing experience.
Gave it the flix??
But according to 7 this is going to compete with Netflix ! lol
And I still donāt get why 7flix launched with 7.5 hours of that show either? (last Sunday morning).
And like you say, it doesnāt really seem to fit in with the rest of their line up.
I will be watching it for amazing race, which I would have thought it was a better fit for 7mate. The movies are ok, but have been on 7 in the last few months. New content from the movie library would be a good start.
Maybe 7 Flix will ditch all new content in the next month or two and become a channel for MKR repeats at night or repeats of high rating shows off the main channel.
