They probably should have dropped 7.30 from the title and just gone with Report or The Report.
Just like The 7pm Project became The Project.

Hopefully 2025 brings some newness. I find the whole program very stale at the moment.
Will be interesting to see which side Sarah takes going into an election or if she will be impartial. Would be great to see this program go back to its roots, and what the ABC is meant to be. I don’t find Sarah to be impartial at all and I think she is getting worse.

ABC has already revived the “Stateline” branding as a supplementary feature within the 7 PM state bulletins, focusing on major investigative reports.
The 7.30 State editions essentially reused the old Stateline format, rebranded under the more successful Monday-Thursday “7.30” title. This move seemingly aimed to create the false impression that 7.30 aired continuously from Monday to Friday.

Sarah returns on Australia Day, Laura Tingle will continue presenting in the interim.
This is funny. Sarah Ferguson named Australia’s most popular TV host but the survey appears to have confused the 7.30 host with the Duchess of York

Agreed. It’s stale and soulless… a far cry from when it launched under its current name with Sales and Uhlmann.
We haven’t seen the Sydney set in nearly 2 months. Tingle has been from Canberra and Sarah seems to be front of a screen.
Sarah appears to be in Canberra as well, set looks similar to the one in Parliament House

Does anyone know what is happening with 7.30? As someone mentioned, the regular set has not been seen for weeks and Sarah is currently in front of a static background from Canberra? Are they planning some update which is being worked on currently?

The show seems to have moved into the former NSW studio in Ultimo (at least this week and last based on the episodes available on iview).
I understand they used to use a full production studio so it would make sense to shift into a smaller space now that one is available - but you’d have to think a flagship national news program would justify having a proper set (especially when ABC has such impressive sets even in the smaller state/territory capitals).
They can justify it, which is why it’s using the NSW studio at the moment

Anyone see the election promo that ran before the 7pm last night? Sarah was standing in front of a set I hadn’t seen before (unless it was the Parramatta sky set?)
