Good. 6IX needs all the help they can get. FM conversion being the most significant.

His time at 6PR seems to have ended abruptly some time ago with a real estate agent taking over his slot.

Nine even went to the effort an ACA yarn about Burgo.

Clairsy joins Perth’s 6iX

When Dean ‘Clairsy’ Clair departed 96FM in August last year, after four decades in the industry and five alongside Lisa Shaw on breakfast, the word ‘retirement’ was never mentioned.

Congratulations to Clairsy - 40 years on radio and 50 years with Lisa Shaw is huge!

Shame they had to shave the S off your surname too.

That info is so wrong

Clairsy & Lisa did breakfast together at Mix 94.5 for 7! Years

They did 5 years of breakfast together at 96fm

Wasn’t Clairsy on drive with Shane and Kymba before Fred and Lisa swapped around?

That’s correct

Well done both of you. Shambolic reporting from a supposed industry publication that regularly exposes itself as not knowing about the industry.

Their self organised industry awards are sure to be equally entertaining.

forgot about Anne - Marie who is in sales at ix

Couldn’t believe it when I heard 6iX play “Close to You” by Maxi Priest released in 1990. I knew for a while their playlist is now including the 80s, obviously is now starting to extend into the late 80s and maybe even early 90s?

Has there been any announcement of a music “refresh”? Certainly their logo has changed (stealing the colour scheme from the ARN Gold branding, with gold on black rather than black on gold!).

They have a respectable (compared to the competition) 48 kbps for their DAB station which is also in stereo. They should leverage that and advertise reception on DAB especially on their logo which just shows “AM 1080 | FM 105.7” and yet DAB has a coverage range greater than the AM and FM combined! If so maybe they can start use the DAB DLS text to list the song and artist now that their music catalogue is getting more interesting.

Probably just an incremental shift in playlist to appeal to audiences moving into their target demos, which happens every 2-3 years with similar stations. Probably also playing less 60s music as well.

Absolutely bizarre 6iX doesn’t reference DAB in their branding.

They do during ad breaks prior to their next “30 minute music marathon” starting, and they also mention it can be listened to on smart speakers.

Well I guess that’s something that at least they promote it on air.
