Last year, the awards were pushed back because of the Olympics . I can’t remember the previous years schedule though.
in 2023 nominations came out on 18 June and the awards were held on 31 July

Oh, I see. I didn’t realise it was thst late either.
Long gone when it aired in April and early May.
For the Gold is it still two people nominated from each network? Or does each network supply multiple names and it’s then cut down to two people?
Or even March. Personally, I think this is when it should screen. The awards should be for a calendar year. Nominees announced in January, awards in March.

I agree with you 100% on this. The Logies should be for the calendar year. Where it was done for 60+ years. Even with the new voting system, it can work. The nominations can be announced late Jan/early Feb no problems. With the awards done by late March.
The AACTA’s are done for a mostly calendar system. And the ARIA’s are close to it too. The Logies are the “most popular” ratings wise, and on these forums too.
They had a full table. The likes of Ryan, Charlotte, Tim, Richie, April, Rebekah and Georgie were there….
It is up to each network to invite their talent. If Neighbours don’t get an invite, it’s on 10, not the Logies. I think the rumour that “The Logies” does the invite came from Amanda Keller when 10 didn’t invite her, as she wasn’t on tv during the nomination period of that year, yet she felt robbed.

Someone asked in the “TV Lounge” section of TvTonight regarding when the Logies are happening.
The response: August again.
Sigh… why so late again? I don’t understand why it can’t be late March/Early April like it had been for decades…
Or at least have it on the last Sunday of the ratings season. And the awards can cover most of the ratings year.

Exactly - since it’s the awards for the year that was, it should be done either at the end of that year’s ratings season, or at the very start of the next years ratings season.

my understanding is that nominees for Gold have to accept the nomination.
Reading between the lines it seems like Hamish didn’t want to be nominated for Gold last year; hence why he wasn’t up for Gold but was up for Most Popular Presenter
Is there a rule that says you can’t win the gold if you are also the Hall of Fame inductee for the year?
