we receive media alerts from labor nationally and personally I receive qld labor and qld lnp so if the situation is there we always try to be at the press conference, especially if its school holidays lol
Hard to believe how this news channel went from being a local news bulletin for the Hawthorn and Richmond districts to being a national 24/7 online news channel. @Leo_Puglisi6 has certainly come a long way in his news career since starting HMV Local News (later becoming 6 News Australia).

Congrats @Leo_Puglisi6. I’m sure everyone here, like myself, is behind you and is happy for you.
Good luck.
Congratulations @Leo_Puglisi6
Congratulations @Leo_Puglisi6, you’ve certainly earned it!
Congrats Leo!
congrats! well deserved
Thanks all!
Unfortunately, Leo was not selected for the award, with Aishwarya Kansakar, an entrepreneur in AI and automation and innovator in STEM education, being selected.
Still, @Leo_Puglisi6, great to see you being recognised for all your hard work in starting what was once a short weekly bulletin, into an online news platform that gives young people a voice. Just like myself, I’m sure everyone here can’t wait to see what the next big thing is for you.
Here is a pic of Leo being presented with a certificate from Her Excellency The Hon. Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria, and The Hon. Jacinta Allan MP, Premier of Victoria, for being nominated for the award.

Well done for making it that far Leo and it is so encouraging to see you make it so far and the sky truly is the limit for you with plenty of years ahead and the ability to make a difference.
It would have been tough for me to choose a favourite though if you had made it through with Ariarne Titmus representing Tasmania in that category next year.
Well done to all nominees and winners in all the categories - all always worthy people we can get behind.
Exactly - that’s one of the great things about the awards - no matter who get’s it - they have all done outstanding achievements than we can be proud of.
Mumbrella features editor Nathan Jolly has written an opinion piece, explaining his opposition on a proposed ban of YouTube for people under 16. Jolly spoke to Leo about the impact of the proposal.
In regards to YouTube, Puglisi predicts “a lot of significant impacts”, starting with education. He mentions something called ‘Google Classroom’ that reminds me of The Simpsons episode set in the future when school is sponsored by Pepsi. But, I digress.
“There’s always YouTube links posted by teachers,” he says of Google Classroom. “It was huge during remote learning as you can imagine, and that’s really important, so teachers aren’t, you know, completely overwhelmed.”
“Look, I don’t think it’s going to suddenly make all young teenagers switch to watching free-to-air news, free-to-air sport. They’re just going to try and find ways around it,” Puglisi reasons.
“But it’s really concerning that it’s even been considered as one of the platforms. I think most people don’t really treat it as a social media platform, like in the same way Facebook and Twitter and Instagram are.
“It is essentially the television for young people at this point in a way.”
6 News wouldn’t have the reach, or have become the stomping ground for future mainstream careers that it has become, were it not for YouTube.
I’m talking to a living, breathing case study here!
The government has revealed the platforms that are going to be under their proposed social media ban.

Online bullying is a real problem that needs to be tackled, but that’s not the motive whatsoever behind this bill. Anyone believing otherwise has fallen for the government’s BS, to put it bluntly.
What is the motive?
Well, it’s not about protecting kids online. It is, at the very least, about government tracking, spying, tyranny, control, power, as so on.
If you really want to go down the “conspiratorial” path: Digital ID, (having your ID attached to everything you do online), social credit scores, etc…
And before you label any of these as “wacky right-wing conspiracy theories”, you’ll find that many if not most people with these views are also very left-leaning, so it’s not a matter of left vs right.
No, all good. I respect your opinion.
So, I guess you will also be going off social media?
