That’d be a hit to Dianne Coveney-Garland who has been there for decades now as their News Director.

Ron is hardly a spring chicken, how many years are they really going to get?
The career spans of people like the late Bob Rogers and recently-retired John Laws would suggest that there are many years still ahead for Ron yet.

Maybe, but hiring a 70-year-old to anchor the network’s Sydney station isn’t exactly a changing of guard one would suspect is needed right now.

Does anyone think/hope 2SM does more than just new Breakfast & Mornings in 2025?
Will we see 2SM or the network replace other shifts in 2025?
Surely, you can’t go from Chris Smith to Pete Davis, then 5hrs of sport talk each weekday?

I really hope 2SM is looking to make some changes to the afternoon format. It needs to create a station people will want to listen to throughout the whole day.
Brent Bultitude had a decent show when he was in the 12-3 timeslot.
I don’t think 4 hours of sport sits well and the quality of Talkin’ Sport is very questionable. 1-2 hours of that show from 6pm would be more than enough and the quality would need a big lift.

Agree the sports show is terrible, and four hours of it. There is definitely going to be some dial surfing in the new year. I just don’t think Mark Levy on 2GB mornings is going to appeal and 2SM may be well placed to pick up some disgruntled former Ray Hadley disciples.

I reckon more will go to the ABC, but 2SM needs to advertise heavily to promote the new shows as I think they are virtually an unknown talkback station in Sydney. They might pick up some listeners then.

Now with 2SM showing strong intent in new breakfast and mornings , it would be insane if they don’t overhaul after 12.00 sessions. Everyone knows the back to back sports 3 - 8pm are a giant waste of time (literally) and just rubbish filler. A proper Drive show 3 - 6pm is essential if 2SM are serious for 2025. Jason Morrison or Paul Murray ?

Looks like Ron Wllson is moving from Smooth 95.3 to 2sm this year
2sm new website looks like a ace radio station website. Maybe a clue that ace wants to take over 2sm in the future
Ace buying the 2sm and the Super Radio Network will allow them to grow and have a prensence in NSW and QLD regiional areas
Ace will fix 2sm DAB only stations (Fun, Zoo etc) as well since 2sm does not really care for those at all by the looks of things
A bit late to the party here.
Ron Wilson & Chris Smith have joined SRN in 2025. It coincides with the launch of their new websites - which it seems ACE Digital have been given the task of doing this. But the new owners/Directors have made mention that the network is not for sale.
