I’ve started to have the feeling the SuperDigi stations shut down at some point, and what they broadcast now is a loop of the final day of programming.
You talking about the DAB stations? I’d like them to lease the DAB space to a community station like SWR .
And they could sell the allocation they purchased at auction to Nova, if that is possible and if Nova wants it.
It would be good for Nova/Triple M/ARN networks to have bits for their stations… At the moment most of the stations sound poor.
A bit more into my theory: Lava.net.au states it’s been 136 days since this happened to the DAB stations (specially the Dance one). Due to advertiser space, events of when songs play has a few-minute differences. And I believe 2SM have tried abounding their digital stations a few times by pretending they never existed, and in this case successfully put them on auto-pilot by playing the same songs every day.
So sad. They’re actually really good ideas and formats.
Hey if there looking for someone to program/rebrand Gorilla Digital to a successful station let them know to contact me as I run http://starterfm.com pretty well with good music.
To hear an alternative , I tried listening to 2sm a bit with the summer crew to contrast Mark Levy and others on 2GB. Interesting approach to talkback, in contrast to 2GB the commentator does not really talk over the caller. You really hear the opinion from the caller they get quite a bit of air time (maybe a bit too much) but at least the callers can have their say which is a bit different to 2GB. We can hear both sides have their say. In my view the commentator on air should engage a bit more with the caller rather than just let them talk and maybe a better filter for the “prank calls” but can make the show interesting I guess (without the filter) . I prefer the summer version of 2sm style to 2GB’s “general style”. Don’t get me wrong , it is far from perfect!
I tried a bit of ABC local radio but talking to the wiggles not really that interesting. They also spoke about Australia of the year. No real talk back there. I wish they would be almost as free as 2sm, given the different demographic who listen to ABC Local Radio. Did not really interest me the snippet I heard.
I think the best current talk back is the live overnight show, Luke Bona on Triple M. But I need my sleep.
The best alternative social media should be talk back radio in my view.
I agree that 2SM’s summer/holiday programming is better and an easier listen to than other commercial talkback options.
I’d shorten the sport at drive and extend the open line talkback shows as a regular thing.
This might be old news , very sad to hear John Law’s wife passed away.
Yes very sad…
Looks like Marcus Paul is presenting mornings in his place for the moment.
Has anyone here listened to Marcus?
He really needs to be doing breakfast on 2SM.
Nope
COVID-19 means I am avoiding large crowds and social isolating.
That’s why 2SM is my station.
Are we expecting Lawsy to broadcast from his home as well, given that he’s older than both Jones and Hadley who have already been forced into isolation?
I would have assumed John Laws was still on bereavement leave?
Forgot about that.
There was an ad on 2SM today for Marcus Paul on breakfast, so sounds like he won’t be back this week either.
Marcus Paul is moving to breakfast from Monday - 5-9am
