2024 United States Presidential Election Coverage

Bad news, looks like I was wrong…

Goodness me, Hera Un?

TIDBIT: That’s because Trump’s head covered up these letters: L, D and S.

UPDATE: Tweaked version of the Melbourne paper for online.

Kamala Harris’ campaign has informed the media that she intends to speak at 4pm ET (8am AEDT) which would be good timing for our breakfast shows if the time holds.

I’ve gone through 7plus to work out how Seven Regional handled the election last night considering Trump’s speech came during the 6pm hour.

It appears Seven Regional had local news as normal at 6. The 6:30 bulletin started with Daniel Gibson throwing to Trump in progress. They stayed with the speech for for six and a half minutes until JD Vance finished speaking then went back to Daniel who introduced the almost 8 minute package on the election which was also the lead in Sydney’s 6pm bulletin.

After this crosses to Tim Lester outside Trump HQ, David Woiwood at Harris HQ, Mylee Hogan in Pennsylvania and Mark Riley at Parliament House. Probably look lives, they were effectively the same as what aired in Sydney except for the reporters using Daniel’s name.

The bulletin finally got to some other news after 19 minutes. A commercial break about three and a half minutes later then sport and another commercial break before the weather. It’s notable the bulletin had a runtime of 28:21 which is about 3:30 longer than usual however as Daniel threw back to the network election coverage at the end of the bulletin it’s unclear if the commercial breaks were shortened or the bulletin ran past 7pm. Local bulletins were all normal duration so the 6:30 news couldn’t have started early.

Does anyone have the Opener of Today & Sunrise

With all due respect, I don’t think a bunch of your posts belong in this thread. Completely unrelated to actual coverage.
