Well, I did say a while ago, I won’t be posting predictions or commenting on daily ratings every day, being summer non-ratings.

Only for major events, like those I’ve posted above.

So I don’t blame last years other predictors, if they don’t want to start for a couple more weeks yet

First day of Aus Open quarter finals :tennis: Nadal’s match will dominate, especially if it’s thrilling & with bottom of the barrel BBL teams playing.

Australian Open - Night 9: 1m

Australian Open - Late Night 9: 500k

It’s all about Roger Federer’s semi-final against the unbelievable Hyeong Chung tonight :tennis: Which will dominate for Seven.

Australian Open - Night 12: 1.1m

Australian Open - Late Night 12: 800k or if 5 sets 1.2m

4th ODI cricket: 700k

My first predictions for 2018…

Friday January 26
Federer v Chung in the tennis will be more popular than the cricket given Australia lost the one-day series.

Australian Open night 12 0.94m

One day cricket: Australia v England game 4
session 1: 0.68m
session 2: 0.74m

Australia Day Live concert 0.35m

Tennis should just beat the BBL doubleheader, although the MCG match may take some viewers away from the tennis preview.

Australian Open women’s singles final preview 0.54m
Australian Open women’s singles final 0.97m

BBL: Stars v Hurricanes
session 1: 0.45m, session 2: 0.56m
BBL: Heat v Renegades
session 1: 0.61m, session 2: 0.69m

Movie: Grease rpt 0.39m
Movie: Saturday Night Fever rpt 0.35m

First of two huge nights for Seven, with the Aus Open finals. Last year’s women’s was around 1.5m (Serena Williams beating her sister comfortably), with 2016 around 1.7m (with Kerber’s first Grand Slam). BBL will be affected. Hence…

Australian Open - Women’s Final: 1.6m

BBL second match: 675k

Sunday 28th January 2018

Huge night, one of the biggest every year. Aus Open final with Federer in action again. Won’t be as big as last year’s fairytale with Rafa, even if it is a great match or 5 sets. But it and Seven will still kill the night.

Unfortunate for new Optus Stadium in Perth’s opening day, but viewers will have plenty of opportunities to check it out during the afternoon.

There’s even more competition, the usual ■■■■■■■■ launch for 2018.

Another huge night to launch the 2018 ratings year. Australian Open final should be popular with Federer playing but the ratings won’t be as big as last year.
The cricket will rate well during the afternoon but will come second to the tennis tonight.
I’m a Celebrity launch should rate decently but SEAL Team will be a flop on debut.
