Hamish said at the start of the broadcast the alternate feed is being done with audio description and sign language.

Yet as you posted earlier, they were using their Prime7 sport watermark for baton relay.

Comm Games Federation must have the same stipulation as Olympics, a uniform watermark across all stations/affiliates?

I assume this won’t change for the remainder of the games.

Indeed. Katie Noonan was at the piano and sang the medley of “I Still Call Australia Home” and “I Am Australian” and another which I didn’t recognise.

Was it a new original song or a familiar one with altered lyrics?

I think it was Peter Donegan who was calling from the alternative coverage.
This is the alternative coverage with different commentators so I didn’t have to put up with the ads and Hamish and Edwina banging on crap during the event.

I found the opening interesting with the trip into space out beyond Jupiter, then reproducing the iconic “pale blue dot” photograph imaged by the Voyager 1 spacecraft. The proposal for that image came from Carl Sagan who Jack Thompson then seemed to pay homage to in the opening dialogue using very similar phrases to Carl Sagan’s commentary in the Cosmos TV series. Well, that’s how I interpreted it
