I’ll say it again, no idea what Nine are thinking.

Putting a home and away NRL game on the main channel in Melbourne, against the first AFL W Origin game.

The latter has also been heavily promoted.

A movie would get 100k+ in Melbourne on Ch 9.

NRL at best will get 70-80k IMO (perhaps NRL pushed them)?

I agree that the AFL Women’s State of Origin should rate pretty well in Melbourne and easily beat the live NRL in the local ratings, but…

With the Storm’s position on the NRL ladder, a few Melbourne viewers might be interested in seeing the game featuring the well performing local team? Also, a main channel airing has the bonus of being available in High Definition…I thought you’d know all this Luke!
