2017 Ratings Predictions

Friday the 3rd of March 2017

Considering Nine only won by ~1% last night despite airing NRL, I think it’ll be very close with Seven again. I think BH&G + The Help + 7mate will give Seven the slight win overall…

No. 1 network: Seven

No. 1 main channel: Ch 9 (just)

-Better Homes & Gardens: 800k
-“The Help” (movie Ch 7): 525k
-The Living Room: 475k
-NRL (SYD/BRIS): 425k
-Graham Norton: 375k
-“The Best Of Us” (movie Ch 9 [MELB/ADEL/PER]): 200k
-“Home for the Holidays” (movie Ch 9 [MELB/ADEL/PER]): 100k

Lots of movies across the multi-channels, I think the movies Spider Man 3 & Rambo (remake) will perform best…

No. 1 multi-channel: 7Mate

Sunday March 5
It will be very close between Seven and Nine tonight. Live NRL will boost the ratings for Nine News Sydney and in turn MAFS. Ten’s new US drama Bull will flop on debut but should get more viewers than 24: Legacy.

My Kitchen Rules 1.06m
Sunday Night 0.74m
The Blacklist 0.28m / 0.19m

Married at First Sight 1.18m
60 Minutes 0.69m
Lethal Weapon 0.34m

Bondi Rescue 0.31m
I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 0.78m (elimination 0.82m)
Bull series premiere 0.43m
24: Legacy 0.18m
Homeland 0.11m

MKR 980k
Celebrity 700k
Married 1.2

Bull 350k (the advertising was shocking - same ad that didn’t reveal anything significant about the show).

Sunday March the 5th 2017

Seven and Nine will be tight tonight, however I expect Ch 7 to win main channel thanks to Sunday Night…

No. 1 network: Seven

No. 1 main channel: Ch 7 (just)

•My Kitchen Rules: 1.15m
•Married At First Sight: 1.1m
•Sunday Night: 850k
•I’m A Celebrity (elimination): 825k
•I’m A Celebrity: 775k
•60 Minutes: 650k
•Bull (series premiere): 575k

No. 1 multi-channel: 9Go! ?

Monday March 6
MAFS will beat MKR again even though MKR has elimination tonight.

Married at First Sight 1.14m
House Husbands 0.63m

My Kitchen Rules 1.1m
Bride and Prejudice 0.71m

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 0.67m (elimination 0.81m)
Whose Line is it Anyway? Australia 0.32m

Monday the 6th of March 2017

Seven should easily win, with Bride and Prejudice + Foyles War on 7Two. MKR & Married will be very tight again…

No. 1 network: Seven

No. 1 main channel: Ch 7

•My Kitchen Rules: 1.15m
•Married At First Sight: 1.1m
•I’m A Celebrity: 800k
•Bride and Prejudice: 750k
•House Husbands: 625k
•Whose Line Is It Anyway: 275k (pathetic programming)

No. 1 multi-channel: 7Two

•Foyle’s War: 225k

See I can understand why they aired it. It was an obvious test to see if ten should do a joint production for its second season. Foxtel probably wouldn’t want to commission it by itself again. What is pathetic is that they haven’t removed it considering it has clearly failed. Even more so than Have You Been Paying Attentions first season.

Tuesday March 6
My Kitchen Rules 1.06m
800 Words 0.65m

Married at First Sight 1.11m
Travel Guides 0.64m

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 0.72m (elimination 0.75m)
NCIS 0.43m
NCIS: Los Angeles 0.37m

Seven will win, not as much as last night.

Married should edge out MKR again.

800 Words should beat Travel Guides.

Ten will be much the same.

Wednesday the 8th of March 2017

Seven will (as has been the trend so far this year) have a massive win, with not as much competition. Ten should also benefit…

No. 1 network: Seven

No. 1 main channel: Ch 7

•I’m A Celebrity: 825k
•Murder Uncovered (season finale): 700k
•Planet Earth II: 575k

I predict a record low figure for the AFL Footy Show 380k

Always pulls good numbers on return.

However I would say this could be the lowest rating season yet, due to public perception towards Craig Hutchison & Rebecca Maddern.

Friday the 10th of March 2017

Seven will win thanks to BH&G + multi-channels (and going off last Friday and Ch 9’s NRL performance)…

No. 1 network: Seven

No. 1 main channel: Ch 7

•Better Homes and Gardens: 800k
•“The Theory of Everything” (movie premiere - Ch 7): 500k
•The Living Room: 475k
•NRL (Sydney & Brisbane): 400k
•Graham Norton: 375k
•RBT: 300k
•“Good Will Hunting” (movie - Ch 9): 215k

Friday night NRL: Broncos v Cowboys 0.55m (Sydney and Brisbane)
Movie: Good Will Hunting rpt 0.34m (Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth)

Sunday March 11
Given it’s a long weekend in Melbourne and Adelaide, MKR will drop below 1 million (won’t be surprised if MAFS joins it). I’m a Celebrity will also drop even though it’s the second last episode of the season.
