Well some unfortunate news, YouTuber Adam Martyn has had his recent documentary upload (a special Halloween one) on BBC’s Ghostwatch TV special from 1992 copyright claimed by BBC Studios.

Despite passing initial checks, the BBC were quick to crack down on his upload. He had uploaded it on Halloween night BST (IIRC that converts to 5am AEDT). He said it was very demoralising to have his works blocked by the BBC yet again. And it isn’t his first time he’s had BBC-related documentaries blocked on YouTube.

I’ve already suggested to him the idea of setting up an Odysee account to re-upload documentaries blocked on YouTube to his backup account via Odysee. We’ll see what happens going forward.

UPDATE: It’s back up,[1] though heavily edited down to avoid another takedown.

His comments section on his newest videos has turned from being supporters of his content or whatever to stuff like “He got arrested”, “How’s the arrest” and “How’s your jail time”.

Those comments have completely wiped any traces of his good and are now the most popular, here’s one of those videos featuring said comments. It’s his most recent long-form video upload.

Like he had any good :joy:

You know, from the same platform that could wipe your channel overnight with a bogus reason and leave you no room for appeal.

Google has finally bowed down to Anthony Albanese’s behest, and will begin terminating YouTube channels that are fronted by those under the age of 16 from December 10.

They will be barred from creating, possessing or acquiring other YouTube channels they may own. They will also be barred from creating new Google accounts to circumvent the terminations. They’ll be treated like creators who have had their channels yanked for violating YouTube’s policies.

I’m kind of glad in the way they have. On my YouTube Music, the top played track would be the 90 minute long Brahms Lullaby. I swear I only ever played it to put my now 11 month old son to sleep at night, lol.

And that’s 3 years of hard work thrown down the drain.. Not the mention, How on earth is 6 News gonna operate during this?

Isn’t 6 News’s YouTube channel owned by Leo? Leo turned 18 a couple of weeks ago, so there should be little issue.

Dang time flys way to fast. I still remember tuning in back in 2022 for the election coverage

Leo owns the 6 News Australia YouTube channel so he’s not affected, but reporters in his team who are Under-16 are going to be affected by this.
