The word ‘Lying’ stumped me on one game. I couldn’t figure it out as I had 2 spots to fill with just 1 vowel left
I haven’t been playing for long but can a letter be used twice?
Yes. As in ‘knoll’, which was a solution last week (another one was ‘abbey’). Interestingly I don’t think plural ‘s’ forms have been used yet…not to say that they won’t be.

Lmao
How did you get that in one go? This took me 5 goes today.
Yeah, and it was a tad controversial one of the first times it happened (after the game became popular) - the description of the game doesn’t specifically say that letters could be repeated so people assumed they werent going to be
NGL, I saw a cryptically worded tweet with someone’s score. Unfortunately it gave it away immediately!

You sure it wasn’t @Bort’s post? Don’t feel like you need to tip-toe around it because he’s on staff, call poor form like this where you see it!
Apparently the answer list is in the code somewhere…but that would spoil all the fun. ‘Sugar’ was mentioned as one of the solutions in a blog post and sure enough, it turned up a day after (only glanced at the post…)
I looked into it - if you know where to look it’s not hard to find.
Supposedly there is 3 years worth of words in there without getting any repeats
I think over 2000 words are in the solution bank; by my maths that gives you well over 5 years without a repeat? But I could be wrong about that.
I saw the ‘crypted’ clue from Bort but it didn’t help me. When I got it was like duh.
I knew the answer before seeing his clue and it took me a minute to get it - its a bit niche (but very on topic for the site)
my friend said that todays answer was one of his go-tos, but he decided to branch out and try some unusual words

Oof. That was close. First time it’s come down to the last guess for me.
