It was a 2-hour DJ set from “The Good Doctor” that covered current club hits, nu disco remixes & classic house party faves. This aired at 6-8pm Saturdays.
Yes, hopefully Wave get the guidance they need from ARN, it had gone a bit wayward under Grants, it suffered from too much commonality with Nowra’s Power.
It’s the same today. It made sense to finish at 3pm yesterday, given that the station has the “Essential 20” countdown at 3-5pm Saturdays (part of which competes with the “Hot 20” that airs on Wave FM at 4-6pm Saturdays). Today though, it would’ve made more sense to continue the ‘all 90s’ into 4pm, when “90 Minutes of the 90s” commence, instead of finishing at 3pm, going back to a normal playlist for just an hour before then.
I would hope so too. Back in the 90s, Grants did separate Wave from Power on targeting a different audience from one another when the latter was actively competing in the Wollongong market before scaling back to just being a Shoalhaven/Southern Highlands station from the early-mid 00s.
Maybe it’s just relaying 2RPH Sydney until the official launch? They will start reading from the Mercury when they have presenters.
Radio 50+ wins the battle here in Stanhope Gardens. They are still stronger then Kix Country which I assume uses a vertical array as it is not receivable at all here.
Interesting ACMA has updated the licence for 2RPH Wollongong but they have left off the broadcast specs. It was originally to be 500W omnidirectional, unless they are using VOX fm antenna which is directional, and ACMA are updating the licence conditions to allow similar specs to VOX???
This is what the 500W 93.3 2RPH Wollongong coverage from Brokers Nose looks like.
