WIN News

Yeah and I wonder what WIN will do with it? Throw it in the rubbish bin?

it’s a blessing in disguise that the 9 news Darwin had been axed before because if nine hadn’t WIN would take a huge axe to it and probably close the news bulletin anyway. The darwin news bulletin would not have stood a chance of surviving the axe under WIN anyway

Does anyone know if the WIN News Toowoomba bulletin from Monday night was repeated on Tuesday or Wednesday?

I received a message from someone in the industry saying that they had received a tip off that a repeat went to air by mistake, but they’ve got no way of confirming it as they live out of the broadcast area (like I do). Any confirmation would be great, thanks! :slightly_smiling_face:

One link seems to confirm this. Déjà News: Did WIN air the same bulletin twice?

Imagine if that happened with NBN News say on Monday, repeating a previous nights bulletin? Come into National Nine News Monday at sport time or would someone notice the error and adjust the evening accordingly? I guess it would be one way to try and stop viewers from watching Home And Away if your National news hour started at 6:30.

In all seriousness, how could a network trying to change what works on one region let an error of repeating a news bulletin on 2 consecutive nights. Could the wrong bulletin air in the wrong region. Imagine the Canberra edition of WIN News airing in Newcastle, there would no doubt be numerous social media posts criticising it

Are “numerous social media posts” worth worrying about? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

And then only really on ‘critique’ sites like Media Spy!

Interesting article about NXTedition being used at WIN News in Wollongong and now possibly NBN.

Here is a link to the embedded YouTube Interview as well

I would imagine a experienced Studio Automation Operator would be an in-demand skill

“It’s the largest regional network in Australia.”

When you’re the only one, it’s easy to be first! :winking_face_with_tongue:

Though, technically, wouldn’t Seven’s regional wing take that title? Especially with the claim of “So [WIN] covers — geographically — most of the country, which is bigger than any other network in the country”

It was mentioned on the ABC’s Media Watch tonight. Host Linton Besser said (according to the transcript)

We sent questions to WIN TV but it wouldn’t say a word about its blunder because maybe nobody noticed!
