WIN News

Even worse, it wasn’t even a full bulletin shown. The 5pm bulletin started at 5:30 and went until just after the first weather update and then Natarsha was cut off abruptly when saying what was coming up after the break and then it went straight to Modern Family at 6 after the ads. Very odd.

IMO, WIN would’ve been better off just airing Ten’s 5pm bulletin in its entirety on a half an hour delay to 6.30pm, instead of just cutting it off to go to a years old Modern Family episode - any news is better than no news, WIN. Any viewers that were watching them would’ve switched straight over to Southern Cross or Nine after they cut short the bulletin at 6pm instead of perhaps sticking around.

A WIN News promo just aired here in Townsville, and it only featured Lincoln (sports) and Hannah (weather) on the end board. Natassia Apolloni wasn’t shown at all.

Weird?!?

She is no longer with WIN with reports the company did not renew her contract

Wow! That’s sudden, and a pity.
I hope they can find a replacement soon, myself and other people I know can’t stand Licoln!

Odd that they aren’t renewing her contract.
The first stages of cuts to local news under TEN affiliation?

WIN’s Tasmanian bulletin was all over the place again last night with various stories freezing and the like. Those “technical difficulties” are still playing havoc it seems. They also continue to split the sports segment in half.

Plus due to no bulletin going to air on Saturday night, Lucy mistakenly signed off with “And that’s WIN News for this Saturday” before correcting herself with “this Sunday.” Whoops.

Yet another WIN presenter disappearing off our screens without any word of warning. No surprise ratings go backwards with a revolving door of presenters and contempt for viewers without informing them of changes like this.

Yeah, what a joke!

In the time i’ve been watching WIN News, we’ve had:

Paul Taylor and Samantha Heathwood
Then, Paul disappeared suddenly without mention as our bulletin was changed to being presented from the Toowoomba studio.

Samantha Heathwood and Daniel Sercombe.
Kathryn Doyle and Daniel Sercombe.

Then, both disappeared without mention as the bulletin changed to the Sunshine Coast studio, replaced by:
Sophie Hull and Paul Murphy.
Then Sophile disappeared suddenly, leaving:
Natassia Apolloni and Paul Murphy.
Then Paul disappeared suddenly again and we finally had:
Natassia Apolloni and Lincoln Humphries.
And now Natassia has been removed without mention again.

Meanwhile in that entire time our presenters on 7 Local News have been:
Rob Brough and Joanne Desmond, the entire time.

It’s no wonder their ratings are low, viewers barely ever get a chance to get used to the presenter before they’re gone!

Wow even a Community TV station could produce a better bulletin than WIN Tasmania at the moment. :stuck_out_tongue:

What are you referring to?

Earlier posts regarding Queensland presenter Natassia Apolloni’s contract not being renewed with the network and disappearing off screen without any word of warning.

Interesting, your comments need clarification before one casts comment . . . actually this was NOT WIN’s fault, a technically difficulty emanating out Sydney at TEN was the reason for WIN’s problem in not being able to air their news bulletin. WIN was prepared and waiting.

Her linkedin says she stopped working for WIN this month: https://www.linkedin.com/in/natassia-apolloni-b9428035

I think Natassia Apolloni might’ve left WIN News last week, she was tweeting about content from WIN up until last Monday.

How? Care to explain? I can understand how a problem at Mediahub in Sydney (owned by WIN) might cause a problem, but from my understanding any problem at TEN would just affect the TEN feed into Mediahub and not any playout or WIN studio links.

Was it only half an hour too? Are weekend bulletins only half an hour now? I turned around to Southern Cross about 5:55 and the bulletin seemed only halfway through and then turned back at 6:20 and they were running Family Feud across the three channels.

She was presenting on Friday night. Would have been her last day

Sophie Ryan presenting the All Australian News tonight. I would imagine she will be presenter of this bulletin when Corinne May goes on maternity leave.

Can we have a vote?

Would MediaSpyers in WIN areas rather:

  1. The current pre-taped pure local bulletin at 6 in current format

  2. A live Composite state based bulletin with state, national and international news at 6 - live crosses to Ten reporters - and 7 minute pre taped local window

You know there is a way to make a poll. (go to edit and click the gear icon and click build poll).
