You can be sure that no WIN news crews would have been at risk if the car chase had happened in Orange, Wagga, Albury, or Hervey Bay.

Is Ethan Rix a new reporter in the Wollongong newsroom? or have they plucked him out of UOW for the day to fill the gaps?

Noticed him last week and Googled the name. Looks like he’s fresh out of Uni. Must’ve been lucky to secure a job with WIN considering the recent cuts.

Has someone else left? Wagga’s Sarah Bannerman replaced Jordan Matthews just over a month ago.

30 Years today since the suspected murder of Ross Warren

First on WIN News.

WIN News if they had looked at the state of this IGA supermarket would have seen that the fresh food refrigerators are nearly empty, with almost no meat, smallgoods, cheese and dairy, and that some of the shelf stable and frozen stock is starting to diminish. The only food that is being restocked is fruit and vegetables and salads. It has been like this for at least two weeks and it has been deteriorating for at least a month. It only opened in January and appears to be in trouble. I think WIN News missed a story that was staring them in the face.

Today turned out to be Chris’ birthday.

Particularly given the Yass store had the same owner and closed recently

It’s normal for report sharing within the state (Canberra often has Illawarra reports, and previously Wagga/Orange when they existed), but on Friday night, Canberra had a report from Tasmania …

Geoff Phillips is presenting the QLD bulletins until Tuesday.

Looks like part of the Tasmanian news desk has found a new home in the Alive and Cooking studio. Strange set up. :man_shrugging:t5:

Interesting that Geoff is presenting Queensland bulletins while Bruce Roberts is presenting Illawarra. You’d think they’s go with consistency by having Geoff remain in his home market.

My theory is that they want their viewers to become familiar with all (or most) of their presenting lineup, if, in a worst case scenario, they feel the need to scrap regional news and possibly go with statewide bulletins (or even semi-national bulletins)?

I don’t think the Illawarra bulletin has had Lincoln Humphries present yet but the Queensland sport presenter, Melissa Russell, did sport a week or two ago.

Why spend the time and money to make separate end cards for each state when they can make only one that serves the same purpose?

While anything’s possible, surely by far the worst case scenario would be for WIN to become the next SC10? A third rate regional broadcaster with tokenistic (to put it mildly) “News Updates” which barely meet the local content quotas.

Was happy to enjoy a Geoff free night and actually have a decent presenter (Bruce Roberts)
