WIN News (2015-Feb 2025)

Continued this week.

Lincoln Humphries fishes on 17 July, so not much time left to make it back on air if at all.

Think he’ll still be fishing until then. Mentioned in his post/release that he would have loved to say goodbye on air but won’t be as he’s overseas.

Yeah I’m pretty sure it was confirmed he was gone already.

Sarah read the Central West NSW bulletin last night with Jared Constable on sport. Sarah presented weather as well.

Any word on how WIN News will air during the Olympics?

Was WIN News impacted by the global outage?

Not the Illawarra bulletin. They even lead the bulletin with a crash that happened at 4.

WIN Local 5.30pm news will air on 9Go during the Olympic Games. It will lead into the 6pm one hour break away Olympic programming on 9Go.

Why is this graphic so bad?

Why do WIN feel the need to use that TV screen backdrop? Just have the white strap fill the whole right side of the frame. It’s like they need to tell viewers they are on TV.

Why do their entire news bulletins scream 1995? Just same mindset.

I’m just glad they’ve invested in HD cameras so we aren’t left with the black bars (edit 4:3 aspect ratio)from 1995

Shame he’d go to CGTN tbh, assuming he’s Bejing based?

Interesting inflection and way of speaking from him. I guess getting used to presenting live (if often fake/heavily biased) news again.

They’re very much going to do this again once the Paralympics start. Back to 9Go! for WIN News starting 29th August until the Paralympics end on 9th September, all in AEST time. This is because of timezones, Paris is usually 8 hours behind us.

After watching this montage myself, I’ve noticed that all the local headlines for Ballarat and Western Victoria are all shoved into the 1st segment of the bulletin. After they return from their first ad break, the 2nd segment starts to show headlines from Traralgon, Bendigo and possibly Shepparton. So yes it is technically a statewide bulletin, but it does remain mostly local for the 1st segment, before very much going to other areas of Regional Victoria from the 2nd segment onwards. Local weather (and some sport) is retained.

No change to WIN News during the Paralympics. Paralympics on Nine and WIN won’t be on the main channel at that time.

Got it, thanks for the confirmation.
