made a post about the removal of Channel Seven stations in the Seven Network thread and that got flagged?

it’s already being discussed here, why does it need another discussion elsewhere

well I didn’t know there was another discussion here

There could’ve been a Seven (WIN) thread, but then again what local programs (or news for that matter) are even being broadcast on the Griffith and Mount Gambier/Riverland Seven services? None at all. And now with it shutting down there’s no need for a dedicated standalone thread. Hence why it’s being discussed here.

7Plus will still be required for Crows / Power matches that 7 Ballarat doesn’t cover.

Also, 9 and 10 probably only give WIN dirty feeds, and it would be a very dirty cut to the programmes that are not usually broadcast on that channel.

They are indeed dirty feeds. 10 Mount Gambier (as seen in this video) fades away from the dirty Adelaide feed before local advertising kicks in.

In this instance around a quarter of a second of an ad from the Adelaide feed is seen, that being a Tip From A Former Smoker, before an ad for a Podiatrist outlet in the Limestone Coast kicks off the local ad break.

Includes comments from Griffith Mayor Doug Curran, and Riverland Adelaide Crows supporter group vice-president Peter Kennedy.

So, rest in peace SES and RTS?

They are going to stop showing Seven programming, not closing down the whole station.

This might help. SES/RTS are the Nine affiliate so they won’t close.

Don’t know. They may reshuffle channels so that SES/RTS as the primary services are maintained with the Nine Network channels and they potentially shut down one of their secondary frequencies (Mt Gambier has MGS and SDS, and Riverland has RDS and LRS).

EDIT: I have just seen the above post which says that SES/RTS are already airing the Nine channels, potentially leaving SDS and RDS to shut down?

It is a little confusing to be honest.

Wikipedia suggests SES/RTS are the Seven Network channels though, while SDS/RDS are the Nine affiliates.

who would you believe? Wikipedia or ACMA?

And Wikipedia has never been wrong before

There always seems to be a belief that SES/RTS is a Seven affiliate, even though this only occured for three years (2007-2010) during WIN’s affiliation spat with Nine.

If they are not going to be showing 7 programming on one of the stations In each market then the big question is what is going to be broadcast - A scenic loop.

Well I think this video is considered to be TV history here now that Seven is ceasing to exist in Griffith, Seven Network Griffith recorded and received 2nd July 2023 by TV DXer VK2KRR.

there is always the chance that WIN and Seven will still come to an agreement by 1 July.

While the circumstances are different to what happened in Mildura - I wouldn’t be surprised if there isnt a last minute deal and the government continue to do nothing about it (especially given this one is in effect a contractual issue)

This also raises my suspicions that a tie-up with Nine might not be that far away
