The cost of scheduling and transmission staff for those 10 services surely must now be at the point it is loss making for WIN now. The little revenue they get must be very small now.
AFAIK apparently the actual ID is still ABC NSW for regional centres, and ABC Sydney - they do take the same feed, but the actual channel ID is still somehow different.
Correct, being different PIDS at DVB emission level for the metro and regional services.
The playout feeds are no longer separate is my point.
Yes I can see that - my original response to the channel list was about the correct ID (i.e. NSW not Sydney) - nothing to do with whether the feeds are separate or not.
One and the same, does it really matter?
Has it arrived?
That new channel coming soon slide has been there for 6 months, I think WIN has forgotten that they have this on one of their channels.
I think I was on the money on this one -
As far as I’m aware there hasn’t been any coverage to suggest TVSN and WIN had settled the legal action over WIN not getting a chance to meet with TVSN prior to them moving the channel to Seven.
WIN filling the vacant channel on their multiplex will mean they were able to replace TVSN, weakening their case that TVSN has done them harm.
In the wake of channel 9 ending the 9 news Darwin bulletin, is there a chance that the 9 network could sell its Darwin station to WIN?
Not likely.
WIN are trying to sell WIN to 9, nothing’s going to happen the other way around.
If that is going to happen could WIN news bulletins also end in the same manner as the 9 news Darwin bulletin, and just show noodle news?
If WIN magically brought Darwin, they’d have local news with 1 reporter, 1 camera operator, presenters out of Wollongong and a lot of traveller stories from Cairns, Townsville etc. It would fall under Queensland news management.
But WIN would have zero interest in buying I would think.
Better do it sooner rather than later. Its losing value quicker than the Stars in Sydney.
I don’t think it matters anymore. People are losing confidence in both nine and WIN.
Evetyone is losing confidence in free to air in general.
I know all the articles talk about the NRN deal as clearing the way for Bruce Gordon to properly own Nine, but I’m certain that C91.3 and Nine owning 2UE/2GB is still an issue, has any reporting touched on this yet?
One would argue ARN’s ownership of CADA, Gold and KIIS in Sydney would make it irrelevant. As long as C91.3 is actively targeting and part of the Campbelltown community, ACMA and ACCC won’t give a shit.
They should, but they won’t.
Haven’t seen any reporting on it, but a sale to the likes of Ace, Capital, Grants, Eon or even the junior Caralises wouldn’t be too difficult for the right price.
Not when those specific set of circumstances (which have nothing to do with the ACCC) aren’t replicated here.
Well, do you see a comboned WIN/Nine giving up all 3 licenses? I cant.
