Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

I hope that likes of Shane Jacobson, Gretel Kileen, Marc Fennel hosting.

Hope it’s not Eddie Maguire, Grant Denyer or Beau Ryan.

if anything, i think the 10 yersion would go back to basics, like how the UK and the USA has done

hopefully they do civilian episodes, rather than celebrity specials though!

When Seven was said to have considered a Weakest Link revival in 2008, Gretel’s name was thrown up as a potential host.

It never came to fruition.

Oh, i see. Gretel might not be a good choice after all.

Also I think she’ll be on The Amazing Race Australia later this year so she would’ve been ruled out as a potential host anyway.

Honestly? I’d go Hugh Riminton.

They can’t all be questions about big belt buckles.

The reboots all feature comics or famous people host it, I can’t see them going serious.

Eddie would not, tbh, sacrifice his AFL commentary works to return to Millionaire set. The 2021 reboot on Nine was a disaster, and I think he knows it. Grant Denyer is doing DOND at these times, and he wouldn’t be able to handle two game shows in one network.

Hopefully, Network 10 can brought back famous names who once sitting in Millionaire’s contestant seat to handle the show. U.S.’ Kimmel and Russia’s Karaulova are prime cases, as they have been on Millionaire for at least once and they know the rules well. I don’t think such famous names who never been on Millionaire can handle the show well. Insofar, as we’ve seen the success of Millionaire in the U.S. with Jimmy Kimmel and shows like Jeopardy! under the guidings of Ken Jennings, upon the return of Aussie Millionaire to the public, famous faces who once compete on the show would be a better choice. But whatever they can overcome Eddie’s big shadow, then, time will tell

Rove?

Fuck, I hope not. Someone like Celia Paquola would be good, or Ed Kavalee might work. Or better yet someone I can’t think of from the top of my head that’s original.

The name I heard they approached would indicate they were going a more serious route, than say a comedic or similar.

Doesn’t sound like Eddie will host, but I could be wrong.

I’m not sure I see a really slow format like Millionaire working in this day and age. The Clarkson version on ITV in the UK is at best a middling ratings performer.

How about Carrie Bickmore host the revival of WWTBAM?

I would like to think 10 would likely choose someone from within their news stable to host. If so, my picks would be:

Male hosting choices:

  • Stephen Quartermain
  • Hugh Riminton

Female hosting choices:

  • Jennifer Keyte
  • Sandra Sully
  • Chris Bath
  • Angela Bishop

If they look outside of news, I’d go with:

  • Sarah Harris
  • Amanda Keller
  • Sam Pang
  • Gretel Killeen

Did you hear Alex Cullen also? I reckon he knows his money amounts and safety levels. (Too soon?)

Wouldn’t be the worst choice, though not sure it’s something he’d want to do - but not the ex Nine’r I heard mentioned.

I think Quarters would be the most likely choice out of that list.

Sandra Sully would need to commute between Melbourne and Sydney.

And flying domestically is unheard of.
