I saw this on Three NZ tonight and thought 10 surely would pick this up.

Believe this is the Aussie version which they filmed with Australians abroad, and not the UK version.

Though, surprised they didn’t specially mention this. And they’re announcing it on a lackluster Friday night

Something tells me they think it’s a stinker

Especially since they are putting it at the end of the ratings year - probably just filler now to get them through for the rest of the year rather than testing the waters with anything.

Given they aren’t even promoting it as a local version, just that it has Norton in it will probably lead many to believe it’s a UK version.

Aren’t 10 usually the ones to innovate here?
Disappointing to see they won’t even test it out by branding it as a local edition.
Especially as “Wheel Of Fortune” is a bigger IP than most other gameshows.

All in agreement here. Does appear that there’s not much hope to this show.

If they are going to waste it - why not at 6:30 weeknights while The Project takes a summer break?

Why are they wasting it? Looks like it’s getting the Monday 7.30 slot for the tail end of the year. Pretty decent timeslot if you ask me

That would work well bouncing off the lead-in of 10 News First & DOND

Might be a bit hard

What about Rob Elliot as well?

What about him? Certainly not in the same class.

I feel like this is not a prime time show that people will watch. Why didn’t they wait till Project went on break and put it on then in that timeslot or rested deal or no deal over the summer for this.?

They’ve got nothing else to show? I’m sure it was always slated for a 7:30 slot, it’s just a stinker so they left it to the back half of the year.

i think the biggest problem is they have used a talk show host instead of someone who can present that type of show. unfortunately we dont have the likes of Bert Newton or Ian Turpie anymore, but I dont think Tony Barber or John Burgess would have done any worse. I think they need someone who can build a rapport with the local viewers. I think Ryan Moloney (Toadie from Neighbours) would have done a far better effort (assuming time allowed for him to do it)

If Ten want this to work, they need to look for a likeable person - Matt White would be a possibility, at least he is a bit more relaxed in front of the camera or even bring back Tim Bailey. I think time will tell if they will pursue this one

That sounds contradictory since Bert Newton was a chat show host.

That sounds random.

How is it contradictory? yes he did do the The Morning Show and GMA on Ten between 1992 and 2005, but before that he hosted New Faces on Nine which is essentially a game show of sorts.

The idea of Ryan Moloney hosted it is no more random than Nine trying Tim Campbell on Wheel Of Fortune years ago. I think Ryan is likeable enough that people will warm to him on such a show
