Wheel of Fortune Australia

Anyway… back to Wheel Of Fortune Australia… IF, and that is a big IF, it returns, it does need to improve. Bigger prizemoney for the games itself, rather than for those quick games they do prior to the big games. And less oohs and aahs from the audience too.

Timeslot is tricky though. Either air it on Fridays when the various lifestyle shows go on a break. Saturday nights if more than 6 episodes are filmed. Or if they revert back to 30 minute episodes, air it in December at 6pm, when Deal or No Deal go on its Christmas break.

The range of technical abilities among senior people ranges enormously. You might have relatives who can successfully navigate streaming services, which is fantastic, but my 70+ dad just shrugs his shoulders at the mention of any streaming service. He just can’t navigate or grasp the concept. He can watch FTA and Foxtel, but that’s about it.

And this is 10play, a service notoriously harder to use than the other streaming services due to the number of errors it has.

I think this show will return. The ratings didn’t seem too bad.

Although presumably needs to piggy back on the recording of the UK version. I assume no Aussie episodes were recorded during the UK recording of the second series a few weeks ago.

So, was 10 just testing the waters with this reboot?

It had lacklustre ratings so don’t expect it back.

Would also depend on cost, they held it off for ages and premiered it very late in the year and ran it through Christmas until New Years Eve so undoubtedly was going to struggle to find an audience then.

It premiered to 485k, so there was interest in the format revival at least - maybe some improvements in having a local host and getting rid of the canned laughter while still filming on the UK set could make it economical enough to return?
