I meant as in rescuing the show. Like Lucifer for example.
Oh I see. You would need to have the writers and creators on board though.
A prequel on Jacs background and rise to top dog would be great.
I also did not warm to Judy in Wentworth…… story was good but just not sure about the suitability of actor for the role.
And then of course there is Ann Reynolds portrayed by Jane Hall. What a stellar job she has done…… just a shame there wasn’t a bigger presence in the last 2 seasons.
when a change.org petition was made for season 8 to be made Wentworth was only going to be in two parts
Yeah Jane Hall and Kate Box have been great additions to the cast.
Has the creators indicated they would like it to continue?
Original theme song back for the last episode!
Not even five minutes in and my emotions are already fucked. What am I going to be like in 40 minutes time.
So sad it’s over.
Really liked all the old blooper tapes at the end, made me quite emotional.
Can’t say I was too sad to see Ann and Judy dead.
The ultimate redemption storyline for Ferguson, saving Vera’s life because a child needs to be with her mother.
I think it definitely leaves it open for a revival down the track if they chose to. A great way to end it.
Definitely potential for a spin off of some kind.
Perhaps a Barnhurst spin off?
They can just say that they didn’t want to rebuild the prison after the explosion and they’ve all been transferred to Barnhurst.
I think they left a few storyline’s open for a reason.
The last couple of episodes did feel quite rushed, they probably needed a 12-episode season to tell all the stories properly.
I saw mixed reactions to the finale on Twitter.
I hear that when filming wrapped up last year, the actors were not allowed to hug one another due to COVID protocols. I hope Fremantle and Foxtel can organise some sort of wrap party before this year ends, so the actors involved can have a proper send off to the show.
And you usually do that for creative reasons. I reckon we will see a revival / spin off in some capacity in the future. Whether it’s Foxtel that’s another story.
Netflix would be smart to commission it. It’s already on there overseas, so they have a wide market already established for them.
They were really building up the idea that Allie was going to die, especially after playing that same music played when Bea died, and the seahorses thing with Bea in the preview.
Anyways, well done to the cast and crew from across the entire nine seasons. They should be so proud of their efforts. Fingers crossed for more Wentworth in the future.
Can’t believe it’s over……I thought someone said there were some Prisoner actors in the last ep….have watched it twice now and didn’t see anyone….
Wonder where Ferguson walked off to……
I think I read that thing about Prisoner cast appearing on TV Tonight.
I know they were supposed to come at the end of Season 7 before they rewrote it all, so maybe David Knox just assumed those scenes would be transferred to the end of Season 9?
Maybe in that scene when Rita was driving away and went past the Freak when she was standing around that fire with the homeless people
