Nine’s coverage of The Melbourne Cup Race The Block was Australia’s most watched program of the week in Total People recording a National Total TV average audience of 1.913 million viewers. The top seven programs in all key demos People 25-54, 16-39, GS18+ and Total People all screened on the 9Network.

Sunday’s episode of The Block was Australia’s No. 1 program of the week with People 25-54 and People 16-39, while it was the No. 2 program of the week in GS 18+ and Total People after the Melbourne Cup. To date, it has recorded a National Total TV average audience of 1.770 million.

Nine completely dominated the Top 10 programs of the week in the People 16-39 demo, with The Block, Melbourne Cup Carnival and Love Island Australia taking out the entire Top 10

Nine won week 45 nationally and in the five metro markets and in all key demos. The margin over Seven was just over one as Nine had its best share in four weeks and one of its best post Olympics. Seven was down one, ABC up one while 10 had its lowest result since the Olympics. SBS was up slightly. Nine reached a milestone by winning 21 weeks in the metro areas out of the 40 of the survey.

No surprise that the Melbourne Cup Race was the number one program of the week with the Presentations number two. Sunday’s episode of The Block came in third.

Seven News was the number one news program on a big week for news that included coverage of the US Presidential Election. The highest rated Election entry was the one hour 7pm ABC News from Wednesday night while ABC’s afternoon coverage ranked 35th.

My Kitchen Rules’ episodes all topped 900k to rank 12th and 13th. 10’s top program was the debut of US drama Matlock in 49th place though The Cheap Seats was a better demo performer in 24th place.

Fisk took the number one spot in the VPM table again while Love Island continued to perform well.

Nine again won the east coast with Seven ahead in Adelaide, Perth and regionally.
