Nine won Wednesday with a network margin of three points and a main channel margin of seven. On a night when the top commercial offering after 7.30 had less than 400k, Nine, ABC and 10 were up one on the previous week while Seven dropped to a three-week low.

ABC had another good night with a Hard Quiz Repeat the top prime time entertainment offering. With 412k, that put it just ahead of Taronga: Who’s Who In The Zoo that was steady with 390k.

Later, Question Everything was down 10k ahead of the second episode of Clarkson’s Farm that was up 40k.

Meanwhile it was the Big Brother Grand Final, that continued the trend of the series to miss the top 20. The result was less than half of the 2022 final that had 367k and 120k lower than the launch episode rating lower than episodes across the season. It finished off the lowest rated season ever of the franchise with an average linear overnight audience of less than 150k for each episode.

Over on 10, despite an improved share, nothing made the top 20 this week as mutichannels tended top prop up network shares. The News than The Project 7pm were the channel’s top programs slightly ahead of The Bachelors at 7.30 that was down slightly on Tuesday’s result and on a par with Big Brother on Seven.

7Two was notable for its highest Wednesday share of the year.

Nine had a better 6pm result on Wednesday including another Melbourne win.

ABC and Nine benefitted from low ratings of Big Brother finale and The Bachelors.

Both Sunrise and Today made it into top 20, which doesn’t happen very often. Melbourne remains a problem spot for Sunrise, where it trailed Today by 23,000 viewers yesterday.

Seven would be happy that people tune into the 6pm hour for the News, and at 7pm for Border Security, because their shares would be much worse. The Big Brother Finale at 7.30pm was nowhere to be seen.

Nine did well with Taronga Zoo and Clarkson’s Farm.

As predicted… Seven is struggling in Melbourne. Breakfast numbers are now flowing into 6pm.

No AFL, or local programming is now having an affect on the station.

Given The Chase beat Hot Seat in Melbourne, then I think it’s more so to do with Peter Mitchell’s absence that viewers are switching to Nine at 6pm.

The poor figures for Big Brother and Bachelors are sending a clear message to programmers.

If 10 play their cards right, Survivor could be extremely competitive against MAFS next year.

Don’t forget that Love Island Australia is doing extremely well on 9Now, with BVOD ratings in excess of 200,000 for each episode.

Massive share for 7mate’s old factual re-runs, also ranked in m/c key demos. Must be one of the channel’s highest Wednesdays for the calendar year, likewise 7Two as noted by Cynic. HP + Force combo bringing in viewers and easy ad dollars, perhaps a lot of usual main channel viewers not interested in BB as well as other networks in summer mode.

The BB finale ratings are so pathetic, and to think the show was rating in the 800ks just 3 years ago. Good one 7 for killing yet another show.

The poor figures for BB are all 7’s doing. There are still many people that love BB, if you look at social media comments there are thousands of comments wanting the old format back.

Its also in the top 5 of the 16-39 demo for each episode (Total TV ratings). Even made it to #1 last Thursday.
