Another Married At First Sight dinner party brought more bumper ratings to Nine topping 1.9m though that was down about 100k from the previous week. That helped Nine to an easy win for the night.

The 1% Club UK was the best commercial competition doing comparatively well and up 130k week-on-week to almost 800k. Australian Survivor’s third episode of the week was unable to improve on the previous week’s rating that it equalled with 365k. That was down 50k on Tuesday’s episode.

ABC premiered its new series Tonight At The Museum from 8pm to an audience of 447k that was down 140k on the Hard Quiz in the time slot last week. The Social Schism premiered on SBS at 7.30pm to a disappointing 74k.

The Front Bar was back for its 2026 season with 582k up from the 2025 season debut that had 530k and the also up on 2024 that had 508k. It was narrowly beaten by Nine’s premiere Naked City The Hit Men that had 594k.

That saw The Weekly With Charlie Pickering dropped 60k to 485k while a special Wednesday night edition of Gogglebox Australia managed just 321k, down form its Thursday result last week of 548k.

In a split schedule for Seven, Marching In was shown at 9.30p in AFL states averaging 179k. 9News Late did well with 345k while a Dog Park encore on ABC had 193k.

Seven News was ahead by almost 150k at 6pm after Tipping Point won at 5pm by 90k.

At 7pm A Current Affair was almost 100k ahead of ABC that topped one million for the third time this year while Home and Away had 926k. Millionaire Hot Seat had 264k.

For the fourth consecutive day Sunrise reached over one million viewers to average 424k while Today and especially News Breakfast rated above average.

Survivor slipped again after having a temporary ratings boost on Monday. This affected the ratings for Gogglebox.

Decent debut for Naked City: Hitmen.

Whose idea was it to schedule The Social Schism at 7.30pm against heavy competition? Such an important forum show should air at 8.30pm or afterwards.

  • Married at First Sight was the No. 1 program with Total People and all key demographics across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 2.873 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.917 million (up 5.4% year-on-year) and a BVOD audience of 690,000 - up 33.5% compared to the same day last year.
  • 9News was the No. 1 news bulletin with Total People across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The combined national bulletins registered a National Total TV Reach of 2.036 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.255 million . On 9Now, its BVOD audience of 201,000 was up 38.6% year-on-year.
  • A Current Affair won the 7.00pm timeslot with Total People across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 1.859 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.106 million . On 9Now, it recorded a BVOD audience of 201,000 , up 30.5% on the same night last year.
  • Naked City: Hitmen dominated its timeslot with Total People and all key demographics across Australia and in Sydney and Brisbane. It recorded a National Total TV Reach of 1.937 million , a Total TV National Audience of 594,000 and a BVOD audience of 134,000 .
  • Tipping Point Australia was the No. 1 afternoon game show with Total People across Australia and in all five metro capital cities. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 1.367 million and a Total TV National Audience of 706,000 . It secured a BVOD audience of 101,000 , lifting the timeslot by 44.3% compared to the same day last year.
  • Today was the No.1 breakfast program with Total People and all key demographics in Sydney and Brisbane. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 868,000 , a Total TV National Audience of 337,000 and BVOD audience of 63,000 , up 23.5% on the same morning last year.
  • The 9Network was the No.1 network on Wednesday across the 5 City Metro with Total People and all key demos.
  • 9Now was the No.1 CFTA BVOD Platform on Wednesday across Australia with Total People and all key demos.

And let’s not forget, (i know this is a repeat from me) but losing Neighbours and project, has meant hundreds of thousands of daily eyeballs are no longer there to advertise and to promote to, so it was an even bigger risk.

However we saw people switch on for Celeb, so it can’t all be blamed on the 10News+ effect if every future show fails.
