Wednesday was time for another dinner part on Married At First Sight with the episode securing the highest rating for a weekday episode this year at just over 1.8 million.

That saw Nine take almost 36% of the national audience, up two from last week. While ABC and 10 improved their share, Seven’s network share was down by four without multichannel cricket.

However, Seven’s main channel did better with The 1% Club was up this week to over 700k after Home and Away averaged 828k. A double edition of Ludwig also helped with 479k and 326k as Breathtaking was bumped to later in the night.

New Hard Quiz also got a small bump for ABC with 570k while Survivor’s third episode was its lowest of the week with 486k.

Later, Big Miracles in the 9pm time slot topped 600k to be even with last week. On ABC, Optics improved by 45k to 260k while Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont-Spelling Bee had 173k with Planet America outrating both with 299k – when is ABC going to give PA a better timeslot? Over on 10, Elsbeth managed just over 200k for 10, down 40k.

In the news battleground, Seven’s bulletin had a 120k national lead. That was after Tipping Point was a huge 170k ahead of The Chase that had one of its lowest results in recent weeks.

  • The 9Network claimed Australia’s Top 4 programs on Wednesday night by reach with People 25-54, as Married at First Sight, Big Miracles, 9News and A Current Affair top the key demographic.

  • Married at First Sight was the No. 1 program of the night with Total People and all key demos across Australia and in all metro capitals. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 2.865 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.803 million (more than one million viewers ahead of its nearest competitor) - up 16.3% year-on-year.

  • Married at First Sight registered a BVOD audience of 525,000 - up 43.8% on the corresponding episode last year. Last night’s episode of MAFS recorded the highest ever overnight BVOD Audience in the series history. This episode is the highest rating non-sporting overnight BVOD audience across CFTA in VOZ history.

  • 9News was the No. 1 news service with Total People across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and with key demographics People 25-54 and 16-39 in Adelaide. It recorded a National Total TV Reach of 1.909 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.162 million - up 13.5% on the same night last year. On 9Now, its BVOD audience of 110,000 was up 52.8% year-on-year.

  • A Current Affair dominated the 7.00pm timeslot with Total People across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 1.733 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.086 million - up 6.9% year-on-year. On 9Now, it recorded a BVOD Audience of 122,000 - up 40.2% on the same night last year.

  • Tipping Point Australia was the No. 1 afternoon game show with Total People across Australia and in all metro capitals. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 1.376 million, a Total TV National Audience of 719,000 (lifting the timeslot by 23.5% year-on-year) and a BVOD audience of 57,000 - 72.7% year-on-year.

  • Big Miracles won its timeslot across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. It registered a National Total TV Reach of 1.872 million, a Total TV National Audience of 609,000 - up 26.6% year-on-year and a BVOD Audience of 107,000 - up 69.8% on the corresponding episode last year. Last night’s episode of Big Miracles recorded the highest ever overnight audience in the series history across Total TV, Broadcast TV & BVOD.

  • Today was the breakfast program of choice with Total People in Melbourne and Brisbane. It recorded a Total TV National Audience of 322,000 and a BVOD audience of 41,000 - up 24.2% on the same morning last year.

  • The 9Network was the No. 1 network across the 5 City Metro with Total People and all key demos.

  • 9Now was the No. 1 CFTA BVOD platform on Wednesday across Australia recording shares in excess of 58% with Total People and all key demos.

Nine wins all metro markets and the regionals where it carried NNSW and SNSW while Seven won the other regional markets. Nine had a +40% share in Brisbane.

It seems that Seven News is indeed stoppable as Nine News won the metro news again. Peter Overton doing very well since his return and pulling ahead pf dual readers on Seven.

Tipping Point wins by 140k one of its beigest margins.

Good results for Sunrise with one of its best metro results of the year. A lot of the gains coming from News Breakfast that has dropped after seeming to pick up fewer over recent weeks.
