I think this is the essential point as highlighted by Scott. Q&A was a strong rater for their ABC previously … moved to Thursday and dropped badly … they said move it back to earlier in the week to fix. Problem is now clearly no bounce back. I have a theory that may help explain. For the Leftys that used to worship Q&A back in the day because it was so clearly anti-Liberal government ( it was their lightning rod ABC hero program against PM Abbott and later ScoMo especially ) … now they are in government most of the Q&A cheer squad have no big purpose now. All imho.
once the viewers tune out it’s very hard to get them to tune back in, and how many years was in the Thursday night wilderness? two years and having had multiple host changes? Very few shows are rating the same that they were 2 years ago, and given the instability behind Q&A these last few years it was never going to bounce back to what it once was in the ratings.
