Nine won its tenth straight Wednesday by a +9 point margin to second-placed Seven. While Nine and Seven were both down one point, ABC and 10 improved by one as SBS was unchanged.

Married At First Sight’s sixth dinner party averaged a massive 1.766 million viewers but that continued the slight downward trend of the show seen this week, with a 70k drop from last Wednesday.

Its nearest competition was The 1% Club that was steady on 778k, though Home and Away earlier was up 25k week-on-week.

For ABC, Hard Quiz improved 30k, enough to make the top 10. Following, The Weekly With Charlie Pickering was back for 2025 with 535k providing more competition in the timeslot. That compares to 2024’s opening episode that had 653k.

Over on 10, The Dog House Australia’s third episode of the year was up 15k on 314k. Following, Elsbeth was up +20k to 221k.

Big Miracles’ season final was down a disappointing 125k from last week as The Front Bar edged lower to 515k. Seven’s newest AFL show, Unfiltered, premiered to 246k.

Later on ABC, Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont Spelling Bee lifted by 80k even in a later timeslot while Planet America was unchanged.

The second episode of Australia: An Unofficial History missed the top 30 this week for SBS with 197k.

Seven News had a 100k win in the 6pm news battle with numbers well down on last week’s highs for TC Alfred coverage. Tipping Point was over 700k and 140k ahead of The Chase. At breakfast Sunrise on 427k was well ahead of Today that slipped below 300k for the first time in six weeks.

  • A Current Affair dominated the 7.00pm timeslot with Total People across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 1.744 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.085 million - up 2.9% year-on-year. On 9Now, it recorded a BVOD Audience of 126,000 - up 31.3% on the same night last year.

  • Tipping Point Australia was the No. 1 afternoon game show with Total People across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth. It recorded a National Total TV Reach of 1.328 million, a Total TV National Audience of 703,000 (up 19.8% year-on-year) and a BVOD audience of 61,000 - 69.4% year-on-year.

  • Big Miracles won its timeslot with Total People across Australia and in Sydney and Brisbane. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 1.651 million, a Total TV National Audience of 556,000 - up 8.2% year-on-year and a BVOD Audience of 100,000 - up 31.6% on the corresponding episode last year.

  • Today was the breakfast program of choice with Total People in Melbourne and Brisbane. It recorded a Total TV National Audience of 299,000 and a BVOD audience of 33,000 - up 3.1% on the same morning last year.

  • The 9Network was the No. 1 network on Wednesday across the 5 City Metro with Total People and all key demos.

  • 9Now was the No. 1 CFTA BVOD platform on Wednesday across Australia recording shares in excess of 55% with Total People and all key demos.

Disappointing morning for Today though it still managed to win two markets.

When is Seven going to actually air the local version of 1%? It’s incredibly lazy and stupid to keep showing the UK version at the start of the ratings season as filler. If they wanted to show the show year-round they should commit to filming for a 40 week season every year like Hard Quiz used to.

It’ll be money related. Not sure how often it pays out as I don’t watch regularly but if a player or players win it’s something like 90k+ isn’t it? Have a few eps of that going off and suddenly it’s quite a pricey show. Bizarre to think someone can win that in just an hour when some reality shows make you endure weeks to win the same/not much more lol
