The Great Debate helped Seven to a Wednesday win. The event did well to attract 527,000 post 9pm and compared 641,00 for Nine’s Sunday event. The Pub Test that followed was coded as a bulletin of The Latest.

Compared to the previous week, Seven was down 2 as Big Brother dropped to a season low 379,000 - that compares to 375,000 for the third episode of the VIP season last year.

On Nine Travel Guides was up 40k while MasterChef posted another impressive gain, up 110k from the previous week to its best Wednesday of the season. The show also won all key demos. In 25-54 Travel Guides slipped to 7th place below The Project with Big Brother 10th.

Meanwhile Gruen Nation managed 581,000 to do well at 8pm for ABC. That gave The Weekly that followed a boost, up to 520,000, a season high.

The final election debate rated well despite the below-average ratings for BB.

Game 3 of the NBL grand final series did OK on pay TV.

Nine News won Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide and was close in Brisbane.

Shocking for 7. Surprised the debate wasn’t higher, but then again it didn’t have a great lead in.

From Nine

  • Travel Guides dominates timeslot across the 5 City and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide
  • Travel Guides ranks Australia’s No. 1 program in Sydney with People 16-39
  • Travel Guides recorded a Live + VOD BVOD audience of 44,000, an increase of 66% YoY
  • 9News ranks No. 1 program with Total People in Melbourne and Adelaide
  • ACA wins 7pm timeslot across 5 City and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide
  • Today wins breakfast slot in Brisbane.

From 10

Network 10 (10 + 10 Bold + 10 Peach + 10 Shake):

  • 10 Peach: #1 multi-channel in key demo of 16 to 39s.

MasterChef Australia Wednesday:

  • Live stream audience up 30% compared with the same episode in 2021.

The Project 7pm:

10 News First:

First Dates Australia:

  • Biggest audience since April 14
    #2 in its timeslot in under 50s, 25 to 54s and 16 to 39s.

I have a feeling The Voice will be back to at least 2-3 nights a week and Big Brother shunted to later in the night. These ratings are unsustainable.

Doubt that. There’s like 3 maybe 4 episodes of The Voice left.

Big difference in the demos between 7 and 9’s debate although I think that’s more a reflection on the networks’ audience demographics.

I think viewers are now tiresome from these debates. First one on 9 or 7 would have done well if they managed to get it before Sky.

Great to see Nine News Adelaide being competitive against 7 News. Only won by 1000 viewers but a wins a win.

I would’ve said 9 News won in Sydney and Melbourne, very close win in Adelaide while 7 News won Brisbane easily.
