TVB’s watermarks are interesting when they were introduced in the 90s - for a brief period of time, Cantonese TVB Jade used a full-colour, calligraphic symbol. It was placed at the bottom right corner during the news (left: recorded at the beginning of the 6.30 News, 11/1/1994), and at the top right in other shows (right: recorded during a singing contest, 16/1/1994):
Perhaps realizing the legibility is terrible, they changed it into a white symbol with a blocky typeface, at the top right at all times pretty soon after (it became more transparent into the 2000s) - this is from late March:

They used this until 2006, when they switched to a colour one with a horizontal lockup.
TVB Pearl had a similar script symbol (with Chinese and English variants) and was seen in some promos, but I’m not sure if they went over the same process as Jade before rolling out the serif watermark.

Out of interest how long ago is it since 9 last had a 2 dimensional logo/watermark?
Presumably prior to the 2008 relaunch, since the logo use to just be 2D.
